leaves you in suspense doesn't it...good point Lantana...maybe I will talk to a mechanic in their shop next time to see, but there is an independant shop nearby I haven't visited for awhile...we go back aways, so I will call on him. My mechanic, from my Chevy days, is doing very well with me supplying info from here on the forum and guys like you...but, we know sooner or later, we will need the machine for diagnostics. Thanks again for your insight...

 

You know I have one of the best Euro mechanics in the state around the corner from my house, known him 10 years and he serviced both my previous Bimmers. Very fair guy and is more than willing to wrench on an XF, one of the only ones I trust to do so. Now at least you can rest easy knowing there is someone competent and willing within 20 miles
