this morning i got into my car and i am hearing like a scratching sound from my wheel well. i also hear a tap when i hit bumps. but somtimes nothing happens at all. what can it be im nervous. is there a way i can test it. can it be brakes or somthing. i have no clue. im in panic cause i am low on money right now. some suggestions now please. thank you

 

The first thing I would do is jack up the corner you think it is coming from and rock and spin the wheel. It will most leckely be wheel bearings or brakes. Rocking the wheel will tell you if it is wheel bearings if there feels like there is some play.

 

lets say it is the bareings. is that gonna be expensive? can i do it at my garage? i will make sure to check all your suggestions out as well. thank you. but what u tihnk about the price and doing it at home?
