To Dougs,
Where are you getting your information from?
You wish that were true, here's the California DMV reg:
Publications » Vehicle Code Title Page » Vehicle Code Table of Contents » Division 5, Chapter 4, Article 1 » Section 11713.17 Front License Plate Bracket

(2) The dealer obtains a signed written acknowledgment from the person taking delivery of the motor vehicle acknowledging both of the following:
(A) The person expressly refused installation of a bracket or other means of securing the front license plate.
(B) The person understands that California law requires a license plate to be displayed from and securely fastened to the front of the motor vehicle and that the hardware necessary to securely fasten the front plate is available from the dealer.
(b) A manufacturer or distributor may not sell or distribute in this state a new motor vehicle for which the department issues two license plates, unless that motor vehicle is equipped or provided with a bracket or other means of securing the license plates.

So is it the gov's personal car or a demo/loaner? If his, go ahead and forward your pictures to the Ca DMV and ask for a citizen's arrest. Just be prepared for a couple big goons from NJ to show up at your door some night. Heck, Marie gets to drive around yakking on her cell phone there, but anyone else gets a ticket. Ahnald also flaunts the smoking laws by puffing on stogies in the governor's office. And you wonder why politicians are ranked below used car salesmen? No offense to used car salesmen.
To paraphrase an old joke: what's the difference between a dead skunk and a dead politican in the middle of the road??
There are skid marks from braking in front of the skunk.

Arnold has bigger problems.

I don't think Arnie has to worry about paying his taxes, but the rest of the Californian's do, that's for sure...can't believe Arnie even got elected in that socialist state...keep those front license plates out there....along with a whole host of other rediculous laws...
This is typical of the "do as I say, not as I do" government mentality these days. Hell, his wife thought she was above the law until she got busted for talking on her phone while driving:

Got a warning ticket...
Cop said correct the violation and return to the station within 5 days....
So I came home and attached the plate to the bracket and secured it with VELCRO.
Went back to the station next day and showed the plate displayed.
Warning ticket cleared - no ticket issued.
Came home and took it off.
Well that worked this time ....

I would say to anyone that doesn't have there's on already and your state requires it, just do it. It really doesn't look that bad anyways.
And I know why they have these laws. They aren't really "silly" or "stupid" if you think about it. It makes it possible to have red light cameras, makes it easier to mount cameras for tolls, and just overall makes it easier for your car to be identified, whether someone is looking at you from the back or front.

I'm not sure what the news is here...
let's see, it about gov't officials breaking the laws....along with every other person on the road today...cell phones, what a joke they have become, now they text going down the road...let alone talking and driving...who's cares about Arnie, look in the mirror and see if you are one of those as well...just drive the dang car, and go hands free if you need gab....I have train horns on the semi, and I love the people texting....usually the phone flys out of their hands...idiots...
