Crossfire Looks Outperform Market Leaders
Have been reading posts on this site as of 10-03 when I purchased my xfire (auto/blue)...great input from all!!! Lots of talk about performance specs. reviews, etc. The real truth is that the LOOKS of this car is a real attention grabber. It demands attention just parked....I have owned some nice sports cars (66 corvette, MB 560SL) but NONE have drawn as much attention as my xfire..............I drove this car to West Palm Beach, Fla. over Christmas and was confronted with questions and comments every time I stopped. Parked along Worth Ave. in Palm Beach one afternoon and attracted a crowd (this is a place were Rolls, MB, BMW, and all types of very expensive exotic cars are the norm.) Two guys in a BMW 7 series offered a trade!!!!!!!!!!!! One look is worth a pile of performance specs!

Most of the people that I've talked to about mine just assume that they are a lot more expensive than they really are. I was in the drive up window at my bank yesterday when an elderly couple just started talking to me from their van. Finally, the woman asked if it was as expensive as the Prowler. When I told her that they listed for $35K, she said that they were going to go look at them. I've had other similar conversations.

That's okay, I love mine!!! 8) 8) 8) 8)
Lack of market awareness and looks too darn good to be in a Chrysler dealership.
I've bumped into my share of people who just totally hate the Chrysler brand, so I agree with point one.
Point two, well, show me another sports coupe that is a practical car. Actually, the Crossfire is pretty practical in the whole scheme of sports coupe, 7.7 cu ft trunk is pretty darn good.
Too expensive? 35k? Well, that depends on what kind of toy market we're looking at. If you are one to consider buying a serious toy car, then 35k is a really good deal considering Porsches start at around 80k and exotics don't even come less than 150k.
It is always fun to have people think that the Crossfire is an exotic.
I remember when I was crossing the Canadian border, the customs officer asked me what my job was and she was she said it must pay very well for what I was driving. I think most people expect the car to cost a lot more.

I have to admit that it was a lot of fun when I attended a birthday party last weekend in one of the more exclusive areas of an already exclusive Laguna Beach. The home was one of those that climbs up the side of a bluff, so the road below is really narrow and everyone has to park along it in one long line (and you walk past them all to get to the house). I can't tell you how many of these guys who walked past much more expensive cars than mine walked into the party saying, "Who owns that silver car...wow!?"
diane,
Those hob ***** with their expenive cars will never know the joy a Xfire can bring to someone.
I haven't been as excited about a car since I bought my new '77 Datsun 280Z. I first saw the 240Z at the 1970 Tokyo Auto Show while stationed in Japan with the Air Force. It was love at first sight. I drove mine for seven "short" years. I had to sell it in '85 when I was sent back to Japan.
I saw the Xfire for the first time when I took my Jeep in for some work. I had not seen nor heard of a Xfire till then. It was love all over again. I never thought another two seater would come along that I could afford and grabbed me as the 280 did.
I ran home to get my wife and took her straight to the car lot. She knew I'd been waiting for another two seater since '85. She saw it and without me saying a word said, "go for it". I've been smiling ever since.
Life is good... a wonderful wife and a shiny new Xfire to put in the garage...
