Default Here is my new ride... FINALLY

but already have a few little problems which i found out while driving and irritated me A LOT and still does.

very bad quality night cellphone shots, i will take better ones tomorrow.

I think she looks amazing! my friend told me that he didnt feel crossfires much and when we were driving back (he was following me with his car) he called me and said exactly this "dude, that thing grew on me instantly, it looks sexy as hell, 9000 dollars exotic you got there lol"
I got a few looks as well.

She rode like dream the entire way with no ticks and i hope she will remain that way for a long time..

problems:

the interior lights don't work ( reading lights and the sunblocker lights) maybe a bad fuse?

I thought heated seats were working when i checked them real quick but they rushed me since they were closing. but i noticed only the back part of the seat works when you lean. the area you sit remains cold! grrrr..

when i press for washer fluid to clean the window, wiper blades work but no fluid. Bad motor? to be honest with you i DID NOT check to see if there was any fluid in it because i am very tired. more tired than you can imagine. i drove 8 hours for this car plus all the headaches and 8 hours work in the morning.

check the interior pic and look at the position of the steering wheel. it is tilted to left very slightly and the wheels are completely straight. How can i get that adjusted so when the steering wheel is completely straight in the car, wheels will be straight as well?

last and may not be least, the side window controller is gone? wtf? check the picture out please, i tried to twist it but that thing is rock solid and wont move. Looks like somebody pulled the top off or broke it off. how to get this thing taken care of? man i cant belive i didnt see all this at the dealership. i suck at life!!!!!

here is a pic of it

Image160.jpg

I still LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE her even though she has some minor issues. i hope to get them taken care of with the help of you guys.

thanks for everything!

Nice car, but quick question. What's on the right rear of the car?

Also check to see if the interior lights are turned off. There is a slider near the overhead lights.

Not so sure about the mirror control, but here in TN there is a 30 day warranty when you buy a used car. Tell the dealer.

And whats up with the console area? Looks like the shift boot and mirror control switch is full of caked on dirt. I look forward to seeing some pictures in better lighting, and I hope all of your issues are minor ones. I am a bit concerned that you stated that the car was certified by the dealership, and it has these problems. Generally when a dealership certifies a car, it must pass an inspection checklist to ensure that all systems are functioning. Good luck with your new car.

Glad to see you took the plunge, I'm sure you won't regret it in the least. Welcome to the "Order"

Most of the things you mentioned have been documented by other forum members, so if you are handy you can fix most of them yourself.

I did the same thing to my mirror switch.

You're gonna have to buy a new one, it's around $50. You couldn't put the top on even if you had it..

Thumbs up Re: Here is my new ride... FINALLY

Looks like someone may have had some problems with the cupholder and spilled his drink - go figure huh.
Also- it really irritates me when the steering wheel is not straight when you are driving straight - you can get this fixed with an alignment - make sure you tell them what your goal is. I have not had much luck getting it right though - they usually overcorrect it.

In regards to the seat heaters, mine ever since new has had issues of only heating the backrest. I had it repaired once only to have it break 8,000 miles later. I've just learned to deal with it. The backrest is better than nothing. Besides, I've read a few post on here about nightmare fixes for this problem that left the seat upholstery shifted, loose and saggy to say the least. And again, check your interior lights switch and welcome to the order!

i slid that button left and right and nothing happens. is there any other button for it? well, the warranty they gave me was in 30 days, if anything happens, they only cover half labor and parts. they are 4 hours away from me...

Yeah it was night and i couldnt see anything plus no interior headlights. i thought that ******* told me that he took care of the car (cleaning wise) she did look very clean but not clean enough i guess. I have the paperwork at home stating what they did to the car and total including labor was 2732.00 worth for work they did. i kind of asked myself, which kind of 40k miled car needs that much work? but she looked tight so i bought it. He told me that it did pass an inspection but i am so upset that they gave me a car with those problems. I mean WHO sells a car in winter where everywhere is all muddy and rainy with NO washer fluid? or a dead washer fluid motor? it was terrible, i couldnt see anything...

yes thats what i noticed too. i will call them on monday and mention the problems. i am hoping that they would send me a dealershp here to get it taken care of because i cant drive another 8 hours.

Thanks everyone for the best wishes and welcoming me here.

more pics will come soon.

P.S. that black mark at the corner of the car is just dirt. nothing else.

some question about the car

Just wondering where can i find the mirror switch and how to install it? how does heated mirrors work? if my washer fluid motor is gone, how much is it and how hard to replace it?? and anybody sells a ciggarette lighter for our cars because guess what, that is gone too.

i almost thing that they rolled the odometer in this car because the Key is sooo old, damaged and worned out, i was like how in the hell you wear out a key like that in 5 years or so.

The previous owner could have been doing a lot of short trips. Like to and from high school.

Did you not research for local dealers in your area before purchasing the car?

I bought my 04 in 08 and it was also allegidly gone over by the dealer but I had the same problem with the steering wheel being slightly off. 90 bucks for a 4 wheel alignment If your washer fluid is empty you should have an idiot light illuminated on dash.

Do a search for replacing maplights with LEDs...its on a sticky somewhere and it shows how to take the map light apart, very simple and a pretty cool design too. Also, search for the pdf file of the 2004 crossfire service manual, I believe oldoc2u posted it a while back. It has everything in great detail and tells how to disassemble the whole car.

Good to see you got the white one.

i thought side mirrors were heated. i could swear i read it somewhere.

yeah i did research but couldnt find a car with low miles at this price. 65k miles for 9k and and 55k miles for 9k with tranny leak. only those were available within 200 miles.

i am just hoping these are minor issues.

The mirrors are heated and there is no control, they are automatic. Use this link to get all the documents for your car, Owners manual, Service manual and Parts manual.

hmm... if the washer fluid was low, there would be a warning light? well i guess my problem is something else then. I have to get that taken care of first.
