Default My Crossfire Leaves An Impression

I went to the Jiffy Lube to get a quick oil change on a different car. One of the workers asked me where my other "little" car was. Then another worker came up and asked me the same question. Then they said... "what kind of car was that?" I only brought the crossfire in once for a quick inspection 7 months ago (I would never let them change my oil). I couldn't believe they remembered my face and matched it up with the crossfire. They must not see many of them and liked my car.

Then I told them I needed an oil change on my crossfire... and mentioned how it takes 8 and a half quarts. They said "just like a Mercedes". I said " it is a Mercedes"... then they said "oh yeah, that is right".

On a side note, the same happened to me a few months ago at a Chrysler dealership. One of the new workers remembered me from when he worked at another dealership. He asked me if I still had the Crossfire... he referred to it as "a go-cart with a car engine" and said "hold on to it, it is a beautiful rare car".

I am just amazed at the way my car gets noticed and is quietly admired. My guess is that same happens to everyone else here.

I took my Crossfire in for the required E-CHECK inspection.
The attendant thought it was a new car and told me it didn't require an E-CHECK. I told him it was an 05 model and showed him the registration to prove it.
After the car show was over (everyone in the shop hovering over it) they all told me it was a beautiful car and one of them said "thank you for bringing in your RIDE".
Ya know... I didn't have a choice, but that made me smile ...

On a return trip from Atlanta I stopped to get gas off I 85 still in GA. I was the only car at the pumps when I went inside. It was cold and a light rain had been falling. As I was comming out of the rest room a young woman stopped me saying is that your silver car at the pump? I must have had a worried look cause she said No No No No! I didn't hit it, I just wanted to tell you it is one of the most beautiful cars I have ever seen. What is it?

In the time it took her to speak those two sentences my emotions went on a rollercoaster ride.Couldn't help saying you should see it when it is cleaned up. You just can't take these cars anywhere without getting comments.

I had a family member at our Christmas get together (a family member I hardly see) ask me if I still had the crossfire. He went on about how nice it is and how I should take good care of it.

Many people notice our cars. I didn't bring the car to work a few days and I had people at work (that I hardly talk to) come up and ask me where my car was. Who would have thought that people actually noticed my car sitting in the parking lot!... and they noticed it when it was gone.

My mom, now 70 and an RN at a retirement home, drives an SRT6 to work every day. She says it is the most popular car at work and gets tons of comments. And she loves the attention. I'm happy that our cars work their magic in so many ways.

I would think a young "hot" RN at a retirement home, would get lot's of attention (with or without a Crossfire).

It's possible that there are several factors involved. It keeps my dad on his toes, too.
