Default Oklahoma Blizzard '09

I've lived here all my life, and this is the first time I have seen a true 35-50mph wind blowing 6-8" of snow blizzard in this part of Oklahoma. True white out conditions and 22 degrees.
Made it all the way home from work to get stuck in my own driveway..D'oh!

WOW! Glad you made it home from work without troubles Terry. This weather is unbelievable. It was 74 here yesterday and now near blizzard conditions. The freeways are clogged with accidents.

At least it will be gone in a few days.

Merry Christmas!

Wow! I can't believe it. I've been living in Albuquerque since August, and it seems I got the Crossfire out just in time. Be safe!

Well, it's the morning after. The storm has gone, the wind has died, it's 20 degrees outside, now for the dig out.

And here's a pic of the back yard,

Maybe not so much snow for our northern brothers and sisters, but for central Oklahoma, this is remarkable.

I am glad that you got stuck in the driveway instead of out on the road!

Well, I was lucky to get it back in the garage!!!!!!....Son-in-law took me to work in his 4x4.....if I could have just gotten out of my own neighborhood I would have been OK. $6,500/yr in real estate taxes & they can't plow my street in a timely manner???!!!

Seeing your thread makes me wonder how all our XF brothers and sisters are doing out west where this blizzard has tracked...I know Rudy is used to it, but Kansas, Iowa, even Missouri looks to have taken a big hit...we are cooling off and starting to look to get some snow, but no blizzard...

Based on your pics the snow doesn't look too bad. Your car should have been able to drive through it.

I didn't post any pics of this snowfall.......

Local neighborhood roads had little traffic prior to my trying to get out..generally there was only about 6 inches of snow but drifts 12-18 inches were common & with slopes in both directions.....I couldn't get to a main road.....

The Crossfire's done OK in the past with <4inches of snow....just couldn't get thru this one....

But hey, it is good to have a son-in-law with a giant 4x4!! But he owes me, back in 2006 he had just graduated from college & she was still in college....when they got married. I bought a second house & let them live there for free for 3 years. They finally bought it from me a couple of months ago.....for about 5 grand less than I paid for it.....

I figure between the tuition/house & wedding....I'm down >$50K....but they are both doing really great now...good jobs, etc.

Happiness is a GOOD SON-IN-LAW!

Almost time to get off.....hope he picks me up?

My only remark on the situation, Why would you try to back into a snow filled driveway? Would you not have a better chance of getting in garage, by just pulling in quickly, not stoping like in reverse?

I got caught up in the middle of it on the Kilpatrick Turnpike in the Crossfire and it was a mess. Made it to Mustang after getting stuck in the road four times. (My tires are BALD!)

Now its time for some new tires. I just drove from Mustang back to Stillwater this morning and it was a bit scary in places but I made it! I had a bit of trouble getting into my apartment complex...

Stillwater definitely did not get anything near as bad as the Oklahoma City area. In Mustang we had snow drifts over our seven foot fence.

Edit: On the 24th there was a gray Crossfire Roadster stuck and seemingly abandoned on I-35 near Norman. Out of curiosity is this anyone here's car?
