Default Service B

Hi,

I have 48,000 miles on my 04'. And have only had Service A's each time I have gone in. What is the normal mileage before the Service B is needed?

Thanks for the help! I would hate to miss that expensive service

I believe you swap back and forth. I know them as single wrench, double wrench services. Mine is due for a double wrench service. I've got to figure out what that entails. Time to use the search feature of this wonderful forum

I bet the Chrysler dealers have no idea what a wrench, double wrench or service B means. I always thought that was a Mercedes thing.

They don't lol I'll take my oil and filter to the dealership. Let them change it and do the rest myself.

If you got the owners manual and maintenance record books with your car, the details of the service in in the maintenance record as a checklist. I did the service B on the SSB last month. Service B covers the same things as the A and adds the replace cabin filter and fuel filter and a couple more based on mileage.

And you are correct, service A then B then A..........

Thank you! I think I will get out my maintance book and show them that they have never done Service B on my car.

I was really waiting to have the two wrenchs show up, but they never have. So I guess it's up to me to tell them to change the filters....

The maintenance log gives mileage. Not much until 60k/48 mos for the fuel and air filters and 100k/60 mos for the spark plugs and engine coolant. I've been doing oil and oil filter every fall before winter storage. At 32k miles, I'm not in a rush to do the other stuff based on time. What is also a good idea, but not written in the log, is to rotate your tires every 6-10k. At least the oem tires can be moved on the same axle.

But I think I'll have the SRT6 cabin filter changed next time since I bought it used. I almost never use A/C or heat in the roadster since it is driven summers top down almost exclusively.

There seems to be very little point to the service A and B. The important time points are not measured by the wrenches. The fuel and air filters, in addition to spark plugs are changed strictly at specific mileage markers. I just had the oil changed when the double wrench appeared. I then changed the cabin filter myself. When the time comes, hopefully I can change the fuel filter myself.
