Default gear display

Why doesnt the 6 spd display which gear you are in, in the little window beside the clock. I just noticed this today. I know which gear I am in, I was just curious about this.

The manual transmission does not display the gear. I'm sure it could have been designed to do so, but it would add cost and complexity, and - as you noted - you already know what gear you have selected with the manual.

That's a good spot for it, then we would know when its time to change gear.
Never noticed that window before though.

it would be a waste IMO. I would never use that little screen. shifting my car to gears is like second nature to me, i am always aware of what gear i am in and what gear the car wants.

If you're driving a stick and need something to tell you what gear you're in, you're not in tuned with your car and not experiencing the true enjoyment of driving a stick.

I also know what gear I am in at all times! I was just curious why they did not use this on the 6spd as well.

If the driver of an MT6 needs to be told by the car what gear he/she is in, they should not be driving a stick. Slapstick drivers on the other hand....
