I read about some of the 350z problems on the 350z forum. My boss also owns a Nissan dealer.I read about the tire feathering ( alignment problems) and also read about auto trans failures. It seems 350z owners are having the same problems getting help or info out of Nissan.I work for one of the largest chrysler dealers in the country and haven't had 1 of our 12 sold xfires in for any repairs. So far there are no recalls and just a couple TSB's.Some new models have over twenty TSB's out.As far as air bag deployment...Did he have a seat belt on? Did he hit hard enough to set off air bags?

I had ZERO problem with my 350Z. I knew 3 other people with a Z, and zero problems there. I wouldn't say he should EXPECT problem with the tire feathering or transmission. And the Z handled incredibly well, it was perfectly balanced.
My Z was also $26,500. Another huge benefit for some people.

I'm a big "Z" fan. I agree with AZ Outlaws, my favorite is the 1977 280z. I'm the second proud owner of this original 35k miles only GNose 280z, w/ 5 speed tranny, a/c, power antenna, 8 track player!

Default 350Z vs. Crossfire

I drove all of the usual suspects before buying the Crossfire (G35, TT, 350Z) and chose the crossfire for its unique styling. Granted the G35 is more luxurious and the 350Z has better performance but the Z's interior is lacking to say the least. It looks like a $15k Honda Civic interior and that was hard to stomach when you are shelling out nearly $40k for a car. The Crossfire offers a good mix of luxury and performance for a good price.
