water pump bad

Default water pump bad

ok my bearing on my water pump is shot. can any one tell me where the belt adjusment is so i can loosin the belt. search pulled up nothin

Look for tensioner pulley. You rotate it counter clockwise and release tension. You will need an E10 socket and make sure it is ALL the way on and seated so it dosent slip off and bugger up the bolt.... have fun with the pump....

You use the term adjustment, I am afraid there is no adjustment. The belt tensioner just adds tension it is not adjustable, if that is your question and I am reading it right. You cannot ease the load on the pulley of the water pump.

Technically, it's a spring-loaded tensioner. You do like MikeR said and use a E10 socket on a ratchet and counteract the pressure of the spring.......that will allow the serpentine belt to loosen so you can get it off the water pump pulley.
