Tint Question For Everyone. OPINION NEEDED!!!
i have 2% tint all round now and i been getting a lot of tint tickets and all other kinda of tickets. i feel the tint makes me stand out. i am feeling either 20% or 35% just looking for contrast on the white car not really to hide from no one. what ever think?
thank you all

35%. If you're looking for a dark / smoked look without privacy, this is the way to go. 20% is still pretty dark, and at night you won't be able to see inside.
35% will still look tinted, just not "black".
If you're getting a lot of tickets with 2%, you'll still get them with 20%. Not so much with 35%.

I had 5% on my Grand Cherokee. After a late night fender bender leaving a party I decided I needed better night visibility. I have 35% all round. Couldnt be happier

Go with the 35. Should keep the man off of ya.
I have 5% on the back window of my 67 Chevelle and I hate it! Can't see $hit out of it!

If I were you, I wouild tint the front windows in 20% for privacy and the rear in 35% for visibility. Between the windshield not being tinted and the rear only 35% you should let in enough light that you will not bother law enforcement, but should still provide the look you are going for.

If you're tired of tickets, you might want to check your state laws on tinting. Looks like a New Jersey plate in your sig. picture.
For NJ,
Windshield: No tint is allowed on the windshield.
Front Side Windows: No tint can be applied legally to this window.
Back Side Windows: Any darkness can be used.
Rear Window: Any darkness can be used.

Verify with your state's most recent laws to make sure this is still up to code.
If you're going to tint the side windows regardless, go with the lightest tint you can find and hope the cops don't notice!

Jlindsey86, thanks for posting the pics. I've been toying with the idea of tinting my SRT6 and my A6 for a couple years and I like the look of your 35%. Can you see clearly at night?
Go Dark!!!

California motor vehicle code oddly does not have restrictions on "Tint"
Only on window covers and film. If glass is tinted as part of the manufacturing process (embedded or manufactured into glass) then your good to go.
But, if you can peel it off - better not have any on the windshield or the windows on the front doors. You can do anything you want behind the front doors.
As you can plainly see; I obey the California Motor Vehicle Code at all times.

I have 35% on my Black/Black coupe. It has a nice smoked look in the bright day time, but looks super dark in dusk/dawn. At night its all good, cops can't notice whats tinted and whats not
Had to stop in and say,
Pretty car Fritz!

I dont know about other states, but in Texas you can have an eyebrow up to the darkest tint put across the top of the windshield up to 6" down..Most cars have an arrow on the windshield that the tint can not go below that. Our Xfires dont have the arrows but still must abide by the 6" law.. I really like mine! Comes in handy with the sun!
