Default Chose xfire over g35 and 350z

Rather than getting my own car, my family and i opted to get a new family car. The g35 was our 1st choice, but their unattractive monthly payments put the xfire in front. It is a SSB, 6-speed, #9999

anyways, i was wondering if any of you have had to get new tires due to wear? and has anyone replaced the stock rims with aftermarket ones?

My tires are wearing great, no abnormal wear patterns and they run very true. No problems with the rims either, but I am very careful of them when parking. I have yet to see reasonably priced aftermarket rims that look better. That's a great serial #9999.

I had a 1959 Corvette once with a serial of 000020. I also looked at the G35 and 350Z, nice cars both but I bought the Crossfire. Your gonna love it. Mine is a "family" car too, wife and a Chihuahua.......

I have the Pilot2 tires and even with 2 autocross events and 4,800 miles they are wearing extremely well. I'm really impressed. As soft as these tires are I thought I would be starting to look for replacements around 12,000 miles, but I don't think that will be the case. Even with as hard as I push the tires I think I'll get about 30,000 at a minimun. Will more than likely get more than that.

kushhen,
I think you must mean - "How small is his family ?" - the idea of Crossfire and family car are a contradiction in terms surely

Just to reinforce your decisionc
As nice as the Z-car is, it's been having some serious front tire wear problems due to alignment issues. problem may have been solved by now, but that was the the primary reason I passed on it (that, and the fact that they're all over the place)

have almost 11,000 miles and they still look good I am now hoping for 30,000 - 40,000 before replacement is needed

Wow... glad to hear everyone is getting good wear from the Pilot Sport 2 tires. A month or so back everyone was predicting just 12k-15k. 30k gives me more time to save pennies for new shoes. I still think I'm going to opt for a less expensive tire when the time comes. Although the Pilot Sport 2 is a great tire, I use #2815 for cruising and road trips. IMO they are overkill and the price too steep for my wallet. Maybe the price will come down as Michelin builds up a stockpile of them.

One thing I am going to invest in pretty soon is different set of brake pads. I've never had a vehicle put out as much brake dust as #2815 does. On ther other hand, frequent cleaning of the wheels and other upkeep just makes the Crossfire that much more fun. It's a car that really begs you to take care of it.

Pilot Sport 2s are going to be a lot cheaper by the time we have to replace them. The reason they are so expensive now is that they only come on the Crossfire, Mercedes SLR, and Porsche GT2 and GT3. They will be released in all of the normal sizes come the spring/summer, and I predict we will see the prices fall once that happens.
