HELP!!! My 3rd brake light is acting CRAZY!!!
Today I took my wifes car in for service. As she was driving my CF I noticed that the center high mount stop lamp (CHMSL)/ 3rd brake light worked sporadically. Sometimes when she applied the brakes, the tail lights worked and all the LEDs lit up bright
, but sometimes only the tail lights came on
. Could this be a loose connection or is it time to replace the CHMSL light bar? Or is my wife playing a trick on me
.
Please help!!! This is going to drive me crazy!!!

this is why i dont let her out in the rain or the snow.. but seeing that iv only had her for 22 days who knows what could happen. or what the past owners have done
Its an intermittant connection, IE a break in the connections.
SHORTS ARE WHEN THE POWER AND ITS RETURN (sometimes the its called the ground ) conductor touch which causes the power to short, bypassing the "load". THis is very bad and causes arcing, blown fuses and burning wiring and even failure of the power source / battery. Shorts rairly happen and are always noticable by the smell and melted / burning parts. THey are almost always fatal to the electricals.
