How's everyone liking the Inifinity Modulus system? I havent taken a really good look at the current setup to see what can be done aftermarket-wise yet...has anyone upgraded their audio system?

I like mine, I've always like the Infinity stuff that Chrysler has used on the cars I've owned.

I like it fine...but I've never gone for state of the art stereo in my cars. Good is good enough for me, as far as stereos go.

Default Infinity Stereo

Likquidxero,

I like the stereo system and the set up in CF. Only thing I am disappointed about is that the system isn't satellite radio capable.

I went to a local stereo shop about replacing the system with a satellite ready head unit. They didn't want to even touch the stereo they were so impressed with the sound and set-up.

I ended up adding a XM Commander to the system for a couple of hundred dollars less than what a satellite ready system would have run. The system sounds and looks great!

i too am very satisfied with the stock system. It is MUCH better than those in its competitors i.e. g35. Im generally an audiophile..but with the crossfire, i rarely play music other than the beautiful notes coming from our engine

I will be adding an XM Delphi Sky FI receiver to my xfire. Any suggestions on where to place the antenna?? I will be using a pro fit mount which is made for the xfire and mounts to the side of the glove box.

This weekend i should be changing my stereo. Im gonna put pioneer in dash tv with cd, dvd player. I had this on my Jeep Liberty b4 i got the xfire. Im still debating on whether to put 2 12 inch subs or just be content with 1. I had the 2 12's in the Liberty. So i just may take 1 12 out and get a stand alone box for it. 2 12's may be toooooo much for the xfire. I'm also going to change all the speakers(when i get the bucks to do it) I have had 2 jeeps with the upgraded infinity speakers and i hate them. I may go JL audio or pioneer.

I am really impressed with the standard audio system that is in the Xfire but I do not care for the display unit... I might switch over a colored display unit with standard buttons... I'm just not a huge fan of the **** to turn to a different track... I keep passing the songs im looking for... but I think the speakers are plenty loud and I dont feel the need to add anymore bass in a car so small

1500c My installer placed the XM antenna at the end of the roof strake, right at the top of the rear window. It's about as unobtrusive as you can get...particularly on a black car. Also.
it's Delphi's newest antennac about 2" O.D.

Love my Alpine XM radio. Except, it always defaults (when turned off) to the tuner. Can that default be changed? Anyone?
Gailwrath, I think we have the same radioc do you know/

I like the stock system but I did add an Audiovox Plug & Play Sirius Satellite receiver. I purchased the cell phone mounting bracket from crossfireshop.com which mounts to the glove box. I use a low profile magnetic mount antenna which I have mounted at the rear of the roof. I don't even listen to the AM/FM radio only the satellite radio.

RedFirec Why'd you choose the Sirius over XM? And are you happy with it?

Sorry Reg can't answer your question, as I dont turn the radio off, just down. Its just alot easer to turn the volume down than find that little button. And when I start the car it ( the radio ) does remember what it was doing when I turned off the car. And I must say I just love this unit
and its MP3/WMA disks it can read.

Default Satellite Antenna Placement

1500,

Placed the antenna on the dash next to the windshield on the spine. The XM Commander has a very small "micro" antenna so it is very unobtrusive.

Default Memory

Kittrelle, it sounds like your power wire and your memory wire on your radio are switched. You just need to switch those wires so that your radio gets power even when you turn your car off.

I was happy with the original CF radio except for the display and that it didnt have satellite radio. I ended up buying a Kenwood that plays MP3/WMA and is satellite ready. I added a satellite tuner to it to complete the package. I mounted the antenna on the dash next to the pillar. I didnt want to mount it on top of the car because an installer told me that kids sometimes mess with it and end up breaking it.

I'm happy with my ipod ( in a cigarette lighter dock ) and 'been debating whether to replace my head unit with a Sony that has a polished aluminum metal. My problem is I always want to listen to the engine rev up everytime I drive my CF. I usually turn my volume down just to listen to the engine everytime I make a pass on a 2 lane road. And with my Solo 2 I dont wanna miss the warning. :-)

The new Alpine I have does not act exactly like the stock unit. With the stock unit I was able to listen to the radio/CD with out the key in the car.
With this unit I must have the key in and in the Aux power or pre-start position. But the unit does remember what mode it was in when I power the car up...........also Reg I tested the units power switch, and it also does
remember what mode it was in when switched off. One differance between your set up and mine, and I would not really expect this to be the problem, is that I am not using the XM radio feature.

My Pioneer CD/TV/dvd is xm ready but is it really that much better? I live in Miami and the radio stations here are very diverse. Im 22 so im into Hip Hop, Dance, spanish, Alternative Rock, and sports talk radio. I know that with xm you don't have to hassle with commercials but here in miami we have so many good radio stations that you barely here the commercials. I also burn albums that i download.

Do you think it's worth getting xm radio?
