Torn between the Ltd and the SRT
Test drove an SRT6 Roadster the other day.
It definately has more pull than my 265hp Ltd Roadster but I would greatly miss the 6spd.
I want the power but that's a big sacrifice.
Are there more engine mod's for the Ltd. I've heard something about a throttle body and oil cooler but it didn't sound conclusive.
Thanks

Beep, are you seriously into drag racing? Do you find yourself wanting to race every Mustang Cobra, 370 Z, Corvette, and Hemi you see on the street? Do you long to do smokey "water box" burn outs at your favorite Drag Strip? Or do you want to get to over 150 mph, faster than 98% of the cars you're likely to see on any given day. Or, simply have the confident feeling of knowing your car is capable of doing all that. Then ditch your Limited Roadster with its "notchy" 6 speed, and never look back.
On the other hand, if you enjoy one of the best handling, most head turning, and fun to drive sports cars available at a bargain basement price, with a 6 speed manual transmission and all the satisfaction it offers, then "STICK" with what you have.
I don't think there are enough performance related parts offered to make a NA car perform even remotely close to a "stock" SRT, and still be economically justifiable to attempt it.

Firemax said it best. There is a whole lot more to driving one of these cars than street and strip racing. Unless you just want to beat about anything on the road stick with the stick.
Unless yo want to spends tons of dough and time, they are 12 second cars on the track, not really dragsters.
There are no mods, short of a transplant, that will bring your NA anywhere close to the SRT.
The only reason to own and SRT is the uniqueness of the product.
I myself own an NA and an SRT. The NA is what I drive daily, cause it's fun, it's a stick and it handles beautifuly in traffic and back roads.
The SRT is a stressful contest "should I risk a ticket and blow this guy away?" every time you get on the highway. So unless that is what you are in to, or you just want to own a very unique piece of history, stay with the NA manual.
Right now, I'd stay with the NA, and ponder the concept for three months, while I wait and see if my $100.00 raffle ticket wins me an Aero Blue one at the CAA.
Then your dilemma would be "which of these two beauties should I drive today?"

I just got my first speeding ticket in eleven years in the LTD Roadster. Caught a lucky break in the fine for going much to fast on an outskirt road of town. I cannot pretend a SRT wouldn't get me into even more trouble. That and impressing the little kids in vans when you pop the spoiler up.
