One other thing (and there's probably 10 treads on this but I'm too tired) do you guys actually use the auto stick feature?

It seemed like there's a lot of lag between the shift and the go. Maybe a Sprint Booster would help.

One more thing...my Ltd is no sled, I'm just a speed junkie.

 

Heck, I wish I could have em both. The prices for low milage SRT-6's are sooooooo enticing.

 

uuhh, shift...lag...what? i'm too busy thinking about a potential felony impound with my foot depressed only half way. that lcd "D" is enough to deal with.

Once you hit the 'oh ****' button, (under the gas pedal) there's no time to autoshift, just hang on and go .................with the permagrim.........

 

Who's had more fun, the guy with 2 '05 SRT6s with a total of less than 6,000 smiles or the guy with an 07 stick that's put 41,000 smiles on it already?

 

Mustang gt's are crap, challenger, and charger R/T's are crap Ive smoked all of the line and on the highway, you can add z28's to that list, and the new V-6 camaro havent raced a z28 new, that would be a loss. Tires, no traction controll, intake pluggs and wires I promise you big improvement, knowing when to shift and how to drive a must have.Tires,Tires, Tires!!!! a set of bad *** tires goes a long way!

 

At the price of these crossfires now, its the best buy for your money,never on a miada or some other mazda or honda crap. the power to weight ratio is good when you buy yourself in the car. Yeah a gt stang might have 100 more ponies,but it weights a **** ton more

 

Mabe there are alot of lemons out there? all these problems, and Ive not had a single one of them. Mabe its how I take care of my car?. My auto stick is just fast no wasted time or (lag)

 

Wrong FP - I'm with you on the spoiler issue. I also like a six speed. Like Mr_Roadster an SRT would just get me into trouble. At my age I don't have to be fast, just look fast!

 

when i took my first test drive, all the memories/comparisons to those nice and far more expensive "sports" cars i've owned just kinda went poof (very similar to hitting the delete key) . the only thing similar was when i was 16 and a rich friend in high schools dad owned a performance shop. my friend had a vintage '65 gto 389 tri-power, 4-speed, modded up the wahoo. the warp speed button on the srt reminded me of being thrust back in my seat when those carbs all opened up. so, my wife...whose eyes were quite wide-open...said "hey, honey should we just make the dealer an offer?" . that 5-star dealer now services both crossfires. and yes, they have an srt tech because they sold quite a few. i got the last one.

 

the guys with the 2 srt6's, hands down....

 

Nice thought for a mod. Can someone get our spoiler to go up and down faster as to wave manually?

 

41/6 = 6.33 .....I'm not sure I believe that fun ratio.....no way SRT/NA = 6 times more fun....2-3 maybe.....not 6.

 

The one I drove had over 50K on the clock. The previous owner might have hosed it.
I'ld want one with much lower mileage. The p sser is these SRT Roadster's are friggin rare. I might have to go 1000 miles or more to find a good one.

 

I started with the SRT6 and have had it for over 4 years. However, I have had occasion to drive a couple NAs. They are VERY nice as well. In SoCal traffic (AKA freeway parking) the auto is much preferred, but a 6 speed NA is no slouch.

No question in a straight line the SRT6 is a beast even in stock unmodified form. But as posted many times before, when you get to the twisties, the extra power "don't mean a thing." We had a group trip up to Idlewild up in the mountains in SoCal and I discovered real quick how well an NA can keep up.

The auto-stick feature works fine, and I used it at first, but the auto convenience (and this is one fine auto) and power combo had me quickly forget about shifting, though I occasionally run it in manual mode just messing around.

Bottom line, if you are happy with your car but wish it had a little more go, finding a good SRT6 is a good option because under the skin they are practically the same. Take your time and find a good one. Maybe even get one from a forum member who has taken care of theirs but has to part with it because they need a back seat for a family addition. Otherwise, keep driving your sweet 6 speed, permagrin is not exclusive to the SRT6.

I do like the SRT spoiler, but since I have a limited with the(pop-up,) not much I can do about it. I would like the SRT spoiler, only if the rest of the car came with it.

 

If you like black and the roaster, the one above is worth looking at. I have both a SRT6 and a N/A right now. Being a wholesaler, I bought the N/A to resale---plus I liked it!!! I actually loved it and drove it over 2 years. Stared looking at '07s, and by the time I did a few mods----I always wanted a little more power, I would be at a SRT6 price and still have less performance all around---brakes, exhaust, etc. I looked for months and found a 917 mile coupe for $19,655 in the graphite that I wanted. NO REGRETS!!! This car all around is soooo much more fun than the N/A---but that's me!!! I loved the N/A, but if you plan ANY mods---Get the SRT6. I am putting the 5 year/ 70,000 mile Max Care Chrysler Factory Plan on for $2035. So, for the next 5 years, I am driving an AMG powertrain with a better body for $21,600 with no repairs bills. Please show me another car that can deliver all these smiles for so little, and with the warranty----no worries.
