If that airbag on the steering wheel goes off, I imagine the driver will also be "branded".
There is more going on here than a front clip swap.
The instrument cluster is SLK or AMG, not Crossfire.
The detail of the "wing" around the Benz eblem suggests either a prototype build or a very fastidious hobbyist who has an eye and a talent for detail.
Well done car.
Nice find.

That is so cool, very unique. I love seeing "one-off" cars. (go figure)
.
I'm not a big fan of the "Frisbee" sized Mercedes emblem though, it always looked out of proportion on the SLK scale cars to me.
I hope somebody posts it up on the Mercedes forum, I bet the comments would be priceless.

I sent a note of toCreator to see if he may know something.
A few years ago, I ran across several SL benz's thatwere part of a small production run done by chrysler during the first merger years. Had Chrysler steering wheels and other components but was essentialy an SL 300 benz roadster.
Perhaps this is something of that kind. There is a bit of erriness about the finish and the little details that suggests it isn't just a custom alteration.
The big star is reminisent of the SEC series cars from the late 80's. The one Patrick Swayze crashed in "Road House."
Try buying one of those cheap today.
I like it better for no other reason than the ommision of the Sebring grill. how 'bout it?

Old man, old eyes, just not used to seeing all the lighted icons.
And I'm off my meds oday.
Really. Trying to wean off the Advair.
Not doing so good.

It really needs different wheels.
Then it would look exotic, not like a Crossfire with pretentions.

OK, I talked with the seller.
He did build the car from a standard Crossfire.
His reserve is $17,500.
His accent is thick, I thought he said $7,500 and I told him I would buy it today for that.
But,
Then we got into the details.
Seems a a nice guy, and I'm vouching for nothing here but it is a real deal and the car is a real Crossie.
I gave him (John) the link to our site.

I can tell you if it was for $7,500 he would be picking me up at the airport this Sunday morning. And I wouldn't have said nuthin' to nobody 'till I got it home.
