xfireinva, I think I understand what you're after as an end product, but starting with a Crossfire and modding it as drastically as you're talking about is probably not the best way to approach the subject. Why not just start with a ground up design of a tubular spaceframe, outfitted with the suspension, brakes, gearbox, engine, etc that you want, and wrap it in a fiberglass or other composite Crossfire look-alike skin? You could probably create something that weighed under 2000lbs, was a totally track tuned demon, but has the exact look and proportions of a Crossfire. No need to try and make the suspension from a 350Z work with the underpinnings of Mercedes SLK and then stuff a Corvette engine in it and try to force everything to do things none of it was designed for. If what your really want is a full bore race car that retains the design of the Crossfire, build it from the ground up.
