Default new shift **** for my crossfire

this is one of my latest additions....an 04' mercedes benz slk leather shift **** (automatic). (click on album to view pics)

the factory dull silver **** doesn't do the interior justice...the new **** still retains a factory look with a classier touch and style.

attaches the same as factory ****. cost: about $125.

Think I'll stick with the orginal but maybe change it if I had a manual box.

I'll stay with the silver, the leather looks tacky

Default huh???

plastic or leather? chrysler or mercedes? to choose or not to choose?

i'll take the leather...you save the 100 bucks.

as for the threads....there are no threads to attach the ****. the bottom of the **** (lower collar) turns to loosen the ****...then pull upward to remove. hope this helps.

cheers!

I think the leather look pretty good. But I'll keep the original. Unless I see one that really sings to me, and the leather doesn't sing.

I prefer the original all the way - I mean, it even has the central spine design theme on it !!!!! Why change to something that's not in keeping with those details

Why buy a Crossfire and do all this? You're just missing the furry dice and neon under lighting for the finishing touches. I would guess your last car was a Golf, Corsa, Saxo?

Looks like you lose this one andrew, not to worry though, it's your car to do with what you like.

The Crossfire isnt no bently now! If some one choses to add there own personal touches and things they feel that will improve the looks of there car, more power to them.... no need to bash!

IMO the Crossfire is matched up with the RX8, Nissan 350z and other sports like cars witch PPL do tons of modifications to.

CCrossfire is right. Do with yours what you want. Just accept that not everyone has the same taste.

From what I have seen and read most of us, on this forum, are pretty much Crossfire Purists and don't want to change the looks of the car. Most of us bought the car because it isn't a ricer. I belong to that group.

So if you want to share what you've done to change the look, don't be surprised or take it personally if you get some negative comments. If you don't want (or can't handle) the answer, don't ask the question.

Default it's all good with me....

personal preference...and this is mine.

this is why there are many different makes, models and options of cars and aftermarket suppliers....choices.

we all like different things. this is what i like.

as for big wings...neon...body kits...graphics...etc...that's ricey...that's not me.

i like a clean and simple look...if you view my album...many would not even know i have made any changes to my car....only an enthusiast would know the difference.

I'll keep the original thanks. BTW, my shifter is metal....not plastic. Trust me, it's mighty cold in the winter. The ****, door pulls and trim are metal....the rest is plastic.

Agreed! about the negative comments, just like its a shame that you would have to have a front mount lisence plate that takes away from the front of the car.

Well, if it is indeed plastic, then keep it coming! Why didn't they use that "plastic" for the rest of the trim? It's the most miraculous plastic I've ever felt.....including Bakelite!

Anyone else think the shifter is plastic? Or metal?

Maybe it's just me. I just know it feels and looks like all the a peices in my aluminum/stainless collection.
