Default How to quickly and temporarily stop brake squeal/noise?

Got a 2005 Crossfire Roadster Limited with 42,000 miles on it. Live in suburb north of Detroit.

We're selling the car in the next month and the brakes just started squealing pretty noticably.

I really don't want to put ANY money into the car. And I am NOT comfortable doing the brake work myself. Does anybody have a magic solution that stops brake squealing? Why does it squeal? I'm used to my SRT8 that has that terrible metal tab that grinds the rotor to squeal. If I had the SRT8, I would just bend the tab back farther until it stops squealing. But I dont' see a tab on these brakes.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Is there a tab I can just bend back? Or something I can spray on it to shut it up for 500-1000 miles or so? Obviously I know WD-40 isn't a good idea LOL!

Thanks in advance!

Don't even say anything about the brakes. Let them have the car inspected and negotiate the price of the car with the new buyer and take 150 off for the brakes. The new owner may want to put his own choice of brake pads anyway!

Is it possible that it's trying to tell you something?

Good idea. But I would like to at least get rid of the squealing if I can... I was hoping there was an easy way. What is actually squealing? Is it a metal warning tab? Or some steel finger that's embedded in the pad's surface?

The tabs I have seen/heard are riveted to the pad mounting plate.
