Default My new ride Vol. 2

Well, I picked up an AMAZINGLY clean, IMMACULATE alabaster white today. I just cant believe how tight and clean this car is compare to my other one. However, one con though, this one handles horrible, I mean HORRIBLE compare to my other one. This just shows how effective lowering springs are. How much the car hugged the road with the lowering springs. I am getting it lowerred in a week or two.

I just LOVE this thing. it is like a NEW car, sooo tight and sooo clean. Paint is in just AMAZING condition.

I am immediately gonna tint the rear window and quarter panels. I need help on how to delete crossfire letters at the back also. I would appreciate it.

I dont know if i should say it but glad i totaled it lol

Here are some pics (cell phone pics)

Looks great! I like the whites with the tinted windows. When you do the springs do you change the stock shocks? I was wondering if the stock shocks were *strong* enough to control the rebound on a lowered car. Congratulations!!!

take a strip of waxed dental floss and slip it under the letters you want to remove. using a saw motion remove the emblems. then using googone or some other NON PETROLEUM based glue remover remove the leftover glue. wipe clean and rewax.

btw very nice car! i have a set of b&g springs if you need to get it on the ground

Musclefan, the last step to removing those letters is putting them in an envelope and mailing them off to MN. Let me know if you don't want them as I will gladly help you keep your garage uncluttered. BTW, glad you found another one and as quickly as you did. It's almost like you just sent it off to be detailed and you're getting it back 3-4 days later. LOL

Enjoy the new ride!

Congrats on the new car Erdal. On the letters....... If you have a heat gun, it will make getting the letters off much easier. Heat each letter, and use dental floss or fishing line to remove them. If you do not have a heat gun, I would think a hair dryer would work also. I used a heat gun to remove mine, and they came off very easily. As Steve said... Goo Gone works well to remove any residue.

Great looking car, but I'm kinda biased

Once you've done the floss & goo-gone treatment, I'd recommend a pass or two with the claybar. Even after I removed the residue with solvent, there was still a mild ghosting effect on foggy nights. Claybar cleared that up really quickly.

Lowering is my next order of business as well.

yeah it will. New job is in Schaumburg area and I am moving about 8 miles away from the new job in about 5 days. So I will no longer put bunch of miles on car.

Thanks for the kind words and help on removing the letters at the back.

Rudy, if you want them, sure i can give them to you. I also have good news for you, i took the head unit too today when i was getting my subs. I am hoping that i wont get a call that i left the stereo section empty and they want me to bring it back or something

I'd recommend leaving the TC on during inclement weather.

Muscle... please don't lower it. Don't tamper with it in any way. The car feels better on the road so just leave it be and enjoy it

And don't debadge it.

Why not? the car handles better and looks better when lowered. It does ride smoother, yeah but I personally didnt buy this for it to ride smooth. I loved the way the other one looked and so does many others. 2" from the back and 1 to 1,5" from the front should be more than enough.

Are there any springs out there which lowers the car 2" at the back and 1 to 1,5" up front?

Yeah I am not spending a penny more than 150-200 bucks on springs. I am sure I can find them locally or just cut them.

I mean 895 bucks? what is it? pure gold or something?

its a matched setup of lowered springs and shocks. after i got the b&g springs and konis i had almost as much in my setup. i know you guys have a lot more room in your fenderwells than i do but take care with the inner fender lip. i damaged mine within 50 miles from the extreme lowering. im now waiting until july5 to have my femders rolled so i can reinstall the b&g springs

Not sure why anyone would tell you not to lower or de-badge, as that is a personal preference. Do what you want to make the car yours. If you can find someone with stock SRT springs for sale, that would be a great choice as they are non-progressive, and can be cut to your liking. To get the stance that you had before, it would probably be about 1.25 - 1.5 rounds cut out of them. Generally, you can find stock SRT springs from 100-150. Good luck buddy.
