Default Flashing lights?

Anyone ever experience where the car flashes the fogs and marker lights when off? There is no alarm sounding.

It happened once yesterday and again today. I'm wondering why this is happening, any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,

-Don

That's weird.

No real ideas, but could it be the battery going dead? These cars are supposed to do some funny things when that happens, random alarms and such. So maybe get that checked?

2004 model year? Maybe it's a combination of the SKREEM (alarm) module failing and you are seeing the visible alarm only? Does your "Panic" button work normally?

Nothing. Mine's an '05 and I had the same problem in '08. It turned out to be the SKREEM (alarm) module. But my Panic button wouldn't work either.

They (MB) changed the SKREEM unit, at least the part number, in the intervening years. I think that cars '07 and newer have the new part number.

And my battery went bad, slowly, with the "spoiler auto-up" syndrome.

A little paranoid are we?

Mine did this for a few days....... then the alarm went nuts and replaced the siren and it fixed the blinking lights.

Another great incident tonight! The alarm went off, with no flashing lights, for no reason again. Nothing could stop it, I had to drive the car about 5 miles with the alarm blaring and people giving me death stares. It randomly died off eventually.

The alarm sounding like it was dying, the "Skreem" wasn't as loud and it was breaking up. I removed the fuse and will be taking it to the shop Thursday.

I'd get that battery tested.

Panic alarm can be switched on/off by pressing the red button on the key fob. Not sure if cars not built for NA have this feature?

ON-yes. OFF-no.

You must use the UNLOCK button to silence the PANIC button alarm.

Mine quit working at the same time the alarm started the "Cricket on Crack" syndrome.

My car and I both are in panic mode! I just drove to Texas and now the "SKREEM" (alarm) is randomly turning on and nothing works to turn it off. It will keep sounding, but it will stop just slightly and turn back on again. Anybody experience the same thing? Can anyone tell me how to pull the fuse until I can get home?

Re the original post -- those lights flash when you lock/unlock the doors using the keyfob. Could you be butt-dialing your car with your key?

OK, interesting.
Perhaps SRTs don't have them?
