Recent lease prices in Midwest
With all this talk about rebates, and the new "base" model for 2005 (under $30,000), I am curious to know what types of lease deals you have received recently in the Midwest.
I just got mine 2 weeks ago for $360/mo with zero out of pocket. 39 month lease.
I hope they don't start giving these things away!

Good deal--maybe, maybe not, what's the point? The deals will be even better on the stripped down 05, get the car and enjoy--did you get a good deal, well every dealer is making money, so enjoy,,,but 39 months is a LONG time, and what mileage did you get, and more importantly what is the residual? That tells the whole story, not what your monthly are...
$4000 down is like another $102 per month for 39 months (which is the long end of a lease). So really not a good deal, but again residual and milage per yr are key.

Well, I didn't say it was a BETTER deal than what I have. I said it was about equal, when you consider the $4000 would add about $102 per month...
Yes, residual would be more important to those who are buying, or those who may terminate the lease early. If I (and perhaps others) plan to keep the vehicle for 39 months, and then give it back, the residual may be less important than the monthly payment amount. Obviously, the higher the residual, the lower your monthly payments would potentially be.
I am just curious what type of 39 month lease payments people are being offered now, with the rebates and sales push. Mine was 39mo/39,000 miles, $20,000 residual and zero out of pocket.

alabaster,
i agree. for the lessee the total of the monthly fees, downpayment, and any fees at lease end are what is most important. the residual, without consideration to the capitalization cost and interest charge on the lease, does not provide the complete picture.
both leases discussed above are comparable in total costs to the lease offered on chrysler's website ($299/mo 39 mos., $2298 due at signing).
one thing i notice on your lease is that the residual ($20K) is likely somewhat higher than the crossfire will be worth in 39 months. chances are the cap cost is in the $32-33K range. as a lessee this is only a concern if you want to later purchase the vehicle. but strictly from the perspective of a lease that will terminate on schedule it is a good deal.
