hydroplaning??
i've got michelin pilot sports like most of y'all, i think. do they hydroplane on you at all? i've been pretty cautious in the rain, keeping in mind the light weight of the car and the vast width of rubber down there.
but, so far it feels rock solid in the rain and i suspect it will do pretty well.
what's your experience, please
dan

I would say any size of tires hydroplanes....nothing can beat nature that even your lawnmower will hydroplane.
It's all about your speed and your personality on the road. One time when it was raining hard, I saw a Mustang SVT zoomed fast from my Ford Expedition ( uses 4 wheel drive when it 's raining hard...my only chance to use it in Texas :-) ) running around 80mph...in less than a minute, I passed a 3 car wreck....and the worst car damaged was the Mustang SVT!
My Crossfire hasn't seen rain nor snow! It's safety tucked in bed...in the garage
Drive safely when it's raining, snowing or flooding.

Living in South Florida we get lots of rain and I find that control is no problem I have gone across Alligator Alley in a big rainstorm cruising at 85 - 90 mph and felt very much at ease in my Crossfire

purple blur flies by at 80ish (what is it with california and purple cars???) and , sure enough, 2 turns later he's a crumpled mess on the center-fence. shame is the idiot took out 3 other cars with him.

Drove 2 hr. straight through hammering rain in Indiana this last Friday. What's wrong with hydroplaning a cockpit on wheels? Altho I kept speed sane, traffic was still limit-over.
Only traction incidents I've had have both been on wet pavement, starting from a stop in 1st or 2nd, while making a left hand turn, felt and heard a little spin.
