New Michelin Tires pulling
I just replaced my 13,000 mile 06 roadster' factory original Continenal Tires with the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus directional tires. I chose the Michelin tires because I wanted the best mileage and a smooth riding tire.
The car drove straight before I changed tires, but now it pulls to the right. I went back to Discount Tire and they replaced the front tires again, but it still pulls to right. I had two different alignment shops check the alignment, a Chrysler dealer and an independent shop. Both said the front end is in alignment. We also temporarily swapped the two directional front tires and this made no difference. I am now ready to try some other brands of tires. Does anyone have any suggestions of other brands to try or does anyone knows from experience that Michelin tires tend to pull to the right? I am interested in a brand that will offer a smooth ride and long mileage.

I have the Michelin Pilot Sports A/S plus tires on my car, and I love them. No pulling, Straight and true. My sizes are 275/35 Rear and 235/40 Front. They preform and look great. Yours should not be pulling anywhere. ??
How many miles have you driven them, they need to unlearn the set that they can get sitting.
If you swap from left to right and then front to back and still pull the same way its the car. Some tires do road following and track with the crown making it appear to be pulling when they are really following more. Woody

But you could have a Michelin on one side and a YokOBAMA on the other and it will be OK.

Yes, no-brainer, I have checked tire pressure, 32psi in front, 33psi in rear, and I have driven 600 miles to seat them, and NO you should not move the front tires and wheels to rear or rear to front, Crossfire front wheels are 18" and the rear are 19". As I said in my original post, I swapped the front directional tires and mounted wheels from left to right and the right one to the left for a test drive and it still drifted to right on level ground. That means the front directional tires were turning the WRONG way for the test drive. We did put two different new sets of Michelin's on the front. I do like Michelin tires, I have been running them on every car that I have owned for the last 27 years. I did wonder if a non directional tire would be any better?

You stated no matter what you did, changing tires, etc didn't help...it isn't the tires. I will bet you if you change brand of tires, it will pull the same. Something happened when they had the rims off the car...does it feel like it tracks straight while braking? If it tracks straight while braking, or if it pulls hard to one side while braking, I would look at the brakes first before changing tires...if one brake is grabbing, even the slightest, it will make the car pull that direction...they had the rims off, then remounted the rims back on...could have moved or caused something to change on the calipers...just a thought...

I know you had two alignment checks but the proof of the pudding is in the eating.
The front tires I took off were worn evenly across and had 5/32" left. The one on the left had a small bulge in the side wall from hitting a curb and was done before I bought the car. Braking does not cause car to pull.

My wife would not notice it and she would forget to tell me of any problem anyway.

One way you might be able to tell if the caliper is dragging is drive the car about 10 miles and then get out and put your hand on the center of each wheel (center cap). If one side is hotter than the other it's a good sign that the brake is dragging.
That was a squeaker Terrance!
I'm gonna go with the consensus and say it's probably something with the caliper being stuck slightly. Honestly, the problems with the brakes I've had with this car... don't get me started. Still love the car, just hate my brake system. It's gotta go back in the shop for the same thing for the 3rd time soon.
Also, if I were you, if you still can, I would return those Michelin's and get a set of Conti DWS's. Those will be my next set. I loved the Conti's that came with the car. I got the A/S pluses after those wore down. I still have them on my car after 20,000 miles or so, and while they lasted longer than the Conti's, in my experience they drive and stick to the pavement (especially in wet and snow conditions) much worse. At this point, mine are ridiculously noisy. Also, be aware of the fact that because they are directional you won't be able to rotate them with much ease. They will have to dismount the tires, remount them, then re-balance them for that.

I just had a set of continental Extreme Contact DWS put on the front of my coupe. The car rides much smoother but the downside to this is that the steering feel is a bit more numb than the previous set of General Acclaims. Of course this is bound to happen anytime you switch from a summer set to an all-season.
