Default how to remove belt?

Alternator is going out and I need to replace it. It looks like the tensioner needs a "special" torx/star type tool , or am I completely wrong. How do you get the belt off??? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Ross

It is a TORX end, E11 I think.

You may be able to loosen it with the surrounding nut, maybe.

Be careful with the E11 they twist out of shape easily.

Thanks for the quick reply. I guess I'll go by the local part stores tomorrow and try to find one. I know the Zone and O'reileys didn't have it. Thanks again!

Yo. Be tryin' this maybe.
I use the nut that surrounds the torx bolt.
Works everytime.

Oh yeah. Remove the fan to make the job REALLY easy.

Pull the 2 clips out at the top of the fan shroud, disconnect the electrical connecter and pull the whole fan assembly out!

The torx is an E10 on the tensioner.... I just had my belt off yesterday... and DJ is correct, take the fan out first so you have plenty of room... you will need to do it anyway to get the alternator out...
