Roadster delayed
I just learned from my dealer that the Roadster, due in this month, is delayed because the rag top mechanism is having problems. I was told that the tops are made in Ohio and they are working out the bugs. Figures, they should have made the tops in Germant, or better yet, should have been a hard retractable top like the SLK. Oh well, I need to wait a bit longer.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO say it's not sooooooooo!!!!! Grumble grumble grrrrrrrr.......I guess I need to call my dealer and see if my April 22nd appointment is moved. Funny, thought he would tell me. Is this an April Fool's joke? Is my countdown really going from 21 days to 4 or 5 months!?!?!?! Poo.
I like convertibles but I just can't imagine the Crossfire as one. The sleek top and unique rear view is one of the things that makes it look so unique and the cabrio just slices off one of the best parts. Ive seen photos of the roadster version and the top is always down. Im thinking with the top up it won't have that low-slung look or that ultra-tight feel that the Crossfire Coupe is known for. Again, having a 'topless' car is cool but I just can't see that on the Crossfire.
I know several people who have ordered roadsters, and are expecting them late April or early May. The SRT-6 Roadster will probably not be here until late summer, but I heard production has already started on the limited roadster.
Why would a German company, who specializes in convertible tops, use tops that come from Ohio? Am I missing something?

I don't know what to believe. After reading this post i called the dealership here in Miami and asked a sale person when the roadster would come out and she said they were getting them in, in 3 weeks.
I don't know what to believe... I have a white coupe now and plan to get the roadster. I'm giving my little brother the white coupe and he's going to take over the payments(well my parents are lol) I want the roadster soon. I can't wait!

I finally got word from our distribution manager here in the DCX Business Center.
There are NO delays in the shipping of the Crossfire Convertable.
L.A. (California) will be the first to receive the first shipment, for there coverage area (West Coast). That will be 10 days from now.
Other markets will see it around 20 - 25 days.

Funny thing is, they don't even have the car. Those are the press photos which can be found all over the internet.
The listing says they have the vehicle on order. Why buy over e-bay when you can just go to the dealer in a few weeks and pick one up locally?
Some people jump the gun way too quickly. Must be nice to be able to thow away $$$ like that =)
