Default Problem with Crossfire Turning off

I Have been having this problem with my Crossfire for a while now. It can turn of mid-drive, the engine shuts off and I lose power steering but the ac and radio and everything still works. It usually happens when Im stopped at a light or after I stop by the store and get back in my car it wont start.

I thought it was the crank shaft sensor so i replaced it a week ago but then it happened again last night.
The problem seems to be another sensor since I can start the car after about 30 min of letting it cool down.
I appreciate any help I can get on this subject matter.

Does it crank over but does not start? or does it not crank at all when this happens? also can you hear the fuel pump engaging when you turn the ignition on when this happens as well? just a couple more things for ya to check, let us know.

Then check into doc's post and tighed1's repair for the RCM, this could be your problem, also how old is your battery, if it's original it might need replacing as well since these cars are sensitive to low battery voltage.

its a 3 month old battery and new alternator. Battery and every thing is fine. My mechanic plugged the computer into it and couldnt find a problem when the car ran fine and the engine turned. This problem happens to me like once a week.

if you pm tighed (aka DJ!) he can tell you about his rcm fix. he now has a spare and send you the spare and you send him your broken rcm which becomes the next "spare". its a great system he has worked out!

I have just started to get the same problem mentioned by the OP. I will send my RCM out when I put her away for the season it has only shut off twice since owning her and it did the no start thing once. I am really glad to know it's probably not something outrageously expensive.

My car is shuttering, like it wants to shut off, then when I press the gas pedal it hesitates, almost like it is not getting fuel, or maybe a bad batch of fuel???

Help

Sounds like a bad batch of fuel, or maybe time for a new fuel filter??

I was thinking bad fuel, too.

Probably that damn "Sam's Club" gas...

Had that problem some time back.

Add some fuel injector cleaner in it from Lucas Oil's. Best on the market. Mine stopped stuttering after just 3 miles when I put the cleaner into the tank.

Give it a shot.......

Yeah, 38k is a bit early for a new fuel filter. Or have you been using a fuel/sand combination?? lol

As already said, try the injector cleaner for a start. its only 6 bucks or so.........
