Default My better cupholder

Take a look at my simple but effective cupholder. At least it doesn't get in the way of shifting anymore.

I think it's on the passenger floor.

Sorry, I'm either too blind to see it or too dumb to figure it out. What did you do for a cupholder?

It took me a while to find it.... If you look at the area just infront of the left corner of the passanger's seat you will see a black cup holder.

Sorry guys, I shoud have explained a little better. What I did was take one of those cupholders that clips to the door and the window channel and I modified it so that the whole "J" part of the holder fits behind the console trim. It is in there securely with no holes or tape holding it. It works like a charm. Not a bad reach to get it or put it back. The best thing is that I can just drop the cup in there unlike the fancy one DC gives us that you have to twist the cup to get it back in there properly.
Oh, and on the keychain, two things I am never without. A small LED flashlight and my pocket knife.

Thanks, I love my XM. I can't drive without it. It is just on the glovebox with super double sided tape.

Here is a better photo of my cupholder.

I see it now. Where did you purchase it and was any cutting required to get it to fit? Does it get in the way fro the passenger and is it easily removeble? Geez what a pain in the *** I am asking all these questions. Great idea.

Just minor cutting to the tail part of the "J". Then I took a torch to the cup holder to heat form it so that the cup would be level. Got them at Wal MArt. 4 for $5, I think. Does not interfere with the passenger at all from where I sit. It can be easily removed if desired. It just tucks up under the console trim and is held in there because it is a real tight fit.

Good job!!!

Back in the days "before" built-in cup holders, I went and bought two stainless steel marine cup holders that swiveled, allowing them to stay level in turns etc. I put them in my '77 Datsun 280Z. Only difference, I lifted up the console and bolted the mount on. They also lifted out of the mount if you wanted to remove them... and they looked good. Sorry, no pictures.

I thought about doing the same thing on my XFire but my wife and are are both large people and it would interfer with our leg room. Bummer....

Look at the cup holder, there are zip ties that are used, yet not cut. Looks tacky.

I personally like the cup holder that came w/ the car. I am a Red Bull Junky and it holds energy drink cans perfectly. Can't say that about any other cup holder out there!

Way to go Chrysler =) I'm happy!

We get free 12 oz cans of soda at work. Thats when I realized it was made for a standard 12 oz soda can. You're on your own with cup sizes though, its hit or miss.

Ok, I cut the zip tie.

Thanks for being so observant.
