Default center stack behind seats?

I was wonder what (exactly) is held within the boxed section behind the seats. Is it possible to "trim" the stack down to allow the seats to travel more or all for greater storage potential in the boot? what, if any, structure is in there?

thanks,
brian

I believe the fuel tank is located under that wall.

I'm sure it adds quite a bit to the rigidity of the chassis too. I don't think weakening it would be a real special idea.

the fuel tan is in the wall or under the wall?

i wouldn't be interested in cutting into anything structural. I ssume there is some kind of strut bracing in there. Just wondering if the trimming of that wall can be modified to allow for some additional trunk space.

My guess is that they (the designers) gave us as much storeage area and seat travel as was physically possible.

interesting... thanks for the feedback!

i wonder if they'll make a rear door luggage rack like the old VW Beetles. I just can't imaging fitting any useful amount of luggage in the rear for a 3-day weekend trip in the summer. not much space for a "touring car."

roof rack? how do you guys do it?

  A luggage rack on the boattail of your car :?:

 Can't imagine fitting 3 days worth of summer clothes in the cargo area?? Holy Moly - what in the world do you plan on packing?? We have taken the Crossfire on a trip for a week - twice - and had plenty of room for the luggage.

Maybe you just don't realize how much room there is back there. Once you get your Crossfire, I'm sure you will change your mind .... 8)

Pack lightly? LOL
My wife and I have taken several trips for a week or more in our PROWLER.. which has practically zero trunk space... Pack light, or dont go.... it's that simple sometimes !

There is plenty off room in the Crossfire. I can pack all of my sons baseball equipment in there. catchers gear, 3 bats, 4 gloves, 5gal bucket of baseballs, 24 bottels of water and do not need a shoe horn to pull it off. I do however park well....well away from the field of play.

At the very top of the rear 'bulkhead' is a 3 inch diameter brace running latterally across the vehicle. Below this is the tank. The rear speakers literally use the tank for resonance. (so is the bass response better empty or full?
