Default Pushed Switch Thru Console

Okay, so its the first cold day that I could test out the seat heaters since I've had the car. My wife and I are driving to work, I reach over and turn her heater on, and then mine. As I'm waiting for them to warm up she gets impatient and "stabs" the switch with her finger and pushes it thru the console while trying to turn the seat heater off. When this happened, the backlights for the row of switch stopped working, and now none of the switches work (spoiler, heaters, etc...). I am trying not to panic (and kill her). Now I have to wait until my radio removal tool arrives in order to remove the radio, and then console cover to see what kind of damage was done.

Do you think she managed to unplug the main unit by shoving that one switch thru? Are these switches that flimsy that you are able to push them through this easily?

I'll post a picture later. HELP!!

These switches are not flimsy at all. accually they are a pain in the butt to remove. It must not have been cliped in properly before.

Well, to answer your question and give you time to calm down....I wouldn't have a clue since I have never jammed my damn finger that hard on any switch in the car ......lol

OK, now that you are calm...hopefully, the switch just wasn't locked in properly, and she just pushed it thru unplugging the harness...never know, maybe a mechanic or someone had been in there and never put it back right...good luck either way...

Here are the pictures:

As you can see in the last picture, only the Traction control, hazard, and window lock switches are illuminated. That leaves the drivers heater, spoiler, tow hook, and passenger heater switches not illuminating or working.

THOUGHTS?

Yep, should just be a case of pushing the harness back into the clip. It must have not been seated properly, because they can be a pain to unclip.

I agree with others.... should just need to push it back in place and make sure it is all seated right...

and just FYI... that is the door lock button... not window lock...

I've had some time to calm down.

I kept telling myself "It's just a car, it's just a car." (still not sure I believe that)

Anyway, would one switch being knocked out cause three others (two of which are on the other side of the panel) not to work? I was mainly concerned that the spoiler switch stopped working when the heater switch got pushed in. Didn't make sense.

I ordered the removal tools from Amazon so it looks like this won't get looked at until Friday at the soonest.
