As promised - My wreck in pictures.

Not to mention they are bolted to the top of the gas tank, so if they do get enough weight on them, they COULD potentially pierce the gas tank leaving you in a very bad place.....
No need for apologies, my friend, you guys were there when I needed you the most - dry clothes, a ride to the lodge, and a drinking buddy when we returned

I would also like to complemet you on using the tracks of the lawn mower to hide you path into the creek. Clevely stealthful. But the Bat Cave entrance with the Willow saplings was pure genus.
How did you come up with that in mere seconds?
Seriously, we were looking for a "hole" in the woods. There simply wasn't one to see.
When the police came they asked where the car was. We pointed and said "There" His answer, "Where?" We literaly had to walk him over to the saplings and point down.
I don't believe he initialy accepted our story that you weren't going at high speed simply because there was almost no evidence that you had traversed the ground.
John, I'm very happy to hear that your head is still attached & you didn't lose anymore hair
!
AND, that Molly had decided to hang at the lodge instead of taking another ride around the countryside!
Man, these cars are tough.......
Thanks for the update - Deb & I were anxious to understand what happened & are both sad to see your original Xfire resting on a flatbed
.
As to your new one - you're not planning on slapping a SRT front end on that baby, are you? Yeah, yeah, I know - your lips are sealed......

The new one will not have an SRT front end, while I think they look better, I will not pay $400 + paint for an extra ~1 inch extension and will wait until someone makes something else, even if it is me. I am hoping to have her back together this weekend

Boiler I rather like my extra inch. Remember though it's not how long it is that counts, it's how it makes it through the curves.
Somehow, I think when John flipped up in the air, and landed upside down in cold water....he probably would have had to pinch himself on the butt just to find it....and as for the roll bars...they are cosmetic...and in John's case, may have prevented him from crawling out the back hatch...I am doing the roll bar thing this winter to the coupe, but using roadster bars, and putting the pretty chrome ones in the roadster...and hopefully will never go fishing the way John did...when I visited John the other night, the new coupe is looking as good as the old one...he hasn't missed a beat...
Glad you made it out ok! It didn't even bust the door windows thats amazing. Seeing the car upside down in the creek is scary though, At least it didn't land in water!

Really glad to you were able to post this after that event (meaning you're still with us). I just wanted to note that i've been concerned about being in such a situation (over turned) so i've gone out and bought a tool that has a blade for cutting your belts if you're stuck and for breaking out windows as needed. Haven't had to use it and i hope i don't ever need to either.

let's hope you don't have to worry about it again...but I will show you where to break the glass, and have a little spring loaded punch, that is the size of a pen, that does wonders to glass. A way to cut the belt is also a good idea. Smith and Wesson has a knife that does both. There are kits for this, and there is a hammer looking device that firemen like to use. Has pointed head, and a place to cut the belt. I carried the pen punch on duty for many years...used it as a rescue diver...always carried a serrated knife as well...great tools to have in your car...you never know...right Johnny...

Lucky it wasn't a rag top like I have! Glad you're safe and sound and I agree, they're amazing little cars and I love mine!
Hope you find another!
