Body parts update...
So I'm someone who is a bit concerned about the availability of crossfire body parts. Last year I tried to buy an additional stock crossfire grille and was told it was on indefinite back-order. That really solidified my concerns.
However, very recently my crossfire was involved in what could best be described as a gentle collision. I stupidly rear ended a pathfinder at like 3 mph. The car is easily drivable, however, the front badge of the car contacted the bumper of the nissan which caused the front edge of the hood to be pushed in. Unfortunately, it also "activated" the crumple zone of the hood and caused it to crease. In addition, the top part of the front bumper (between the headlights and grille) got gouged in a couple of places. There are no cracks and it could be repaired according to my body guy. My grille is one of those black mesh grilles I bought off a vender on this site which got slightly bent and lightly scratched. That won't need to be replaced at all, just buffed.
So now I'm left with the situation of needing to buy some new body parts. I was a bit concerned about buying a new hood and possibly a front bumper. It turned out the hood on these cars is easily available. Ok good! Next up the bumper. I didn't NEED a bumper but at the same time, it is a great excuse to get an SRT6 bumper. I almost bought a used light blue one off another member here. That fell through. Now at this point, I was somehow under the impression that these bumpers are no longer available. I had my body guy look it up and he didn't find one. I looked at the Chrysler Parts Direct (CPD) website and they didn't list the SRT6 bumper being available. Ahhhhhh!!!!!!! I then found someone on Ebay who was selling a new OEM SRT6 bumper. On a whim, I called Chrysler Parts Direct to see if they could get me one. And they could!
So at this point, I ordered a new OEM hood and SRT6 bumper from CPD. I dealt with Wayne and he was awesome to work with. He told me that shipping would be retarded expensive for both items. Probably around 700.00 just for the shipping for both items together. Wayne suggested that I come pick up the parts in person and he would give me the internet price (contrary to what is said on the site). Since I live outside of Philly and CPD is in Sussex, NJ (way up Northern NJ), I checked out prices to rent a cargo van and found it to be reasonable. So I decided to order the hood and bumper from Wayne.
After about 4 days, all the stuff arrived and today I rented the van and picked everything up. It ended up costing me 120.00 to rent and gas the van. What's funny is that because of the stupid expensive shipping costs, I paid a little less doing things this way than order the cheaper priced items off the Ebay source.
For anyone looking for parts for their cars, Wayne at CPD is a great guy to check with. For the bigger items, I would recommend picking up the parts yourself. I saved quite a bit in the end compared with other options and I didn't have to deal with the monkeys at Fedex, UPS, the USPS, or Grayhound.
Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! It was great going directly from the Ford E250 I rented to the crossfire--reminded me of why I like the car!

thanks for the update! It's a relief to know if we should happen to need parts that we may be able to get them. It's even better news for me, cause I live in the next town over from where CPD is, and didn't even know it until you posted this and I checked!
