Poking my head in...
OK, more like roaring in... Today I finally gave in, and stopped at the Chrysler dealer. I drove out with a beautiful, black Crossfire. I know I'm only on day one here, but I love it already.
First thing I did once I could manage to drag myself out of the drivers' seat was to find this place. It's been great reading what everyone's had to say about the car -- I'm feeling even more sure now that I did the right thing.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I think I need to head out and drive to, well, I dunno. But I'm sure I'll figure it out once I'm on the road.

Oh, one question -- seen some talk about VIN numbers. Mine ends in 10112. If I was to put my VIN in a sig, would it be #112?
I feel like such a noob.
[Edited to add: Never mind. I got it figured out. Shoulda been born blonde.]

on "where to drive?", a local newspaper columnist advises starting with a full tank and then resolving to get lost. thoroughly lost is even better.
few people really become permanently lost. some just change their mind about where they're going and become deckhands on tramp steamers but most people will find their way, like a good dog, back home. meanwhile, it's cheap adventure.

Man, I should have done this a long time ago. I'm getting no work done today... People keep trickling in late... I've already heard three people come in talking about the Crossfire in the parking lot, and had two make two trips out to show the team my new baby.
They definitely didn't react like this to the ol' Wrangler.

I'm an L.A. native recently transplanted a few hundred miles north -- I'm up in the Bay Area now.
I know there are at least a couple other Crossfire owners out here. I'd managed to hold off on buying mine until I got passed on the freeway by an alabaster one day, and followed a graphite halfway to work the next.
Until I got mine, I'm not sure I'd ever seen the front of one.

I just picked up my Crossfire today from Hilltop Chrysler in Pinole, CA.
It is also a black one.
Although, I only drove it 2 miles to my body shop to have all the silver painted out black.
I am painting the front grill, door handles, windshield frame and louvres.
When it is done I will post pictures.
