Just got it! (#2)
Hi everyone,
New member here. I just bought a white 2004 Crossfire w/ 68k miles on it yesterday and am thrilled to be driving such a neat car! I recently moved from California to Austin, TX and had sold my '95 Mercedes C280 when I left because I didn't want to move it that far - so I had been without a car of my own for 4 months and it was time. The crossfire wasn't really on my radar until the last few days of used car shopping but I was able to find one at a great price that was in great condition and I love it! I plan on coming here often especially as parts need fixing or the car needs servicing - love all the great posts I've already been seeing.

Year (04 - got that)
Color(s) inside and out (Ok, white on the outside)
Miles (68K)
Coupe or Roadster (We assume coupe in this category of the forum)
Any other unusual or specific things about the car (you will see examples all over this forum)
And maybe you don't want it is your sigline, but we'd like to hear what you paid and if you bought from a dealer or individual - this helps us ALL to know what the market is like out there. I paid $17,645 for mine from a dealer on July 6, 09 with 13,351 on it. EVERYONE told me I paid too much, but it was the RIGHT one for me so... it didn't matter!
@pizzaguy
Thanks - yeah I meant to make a sig and knew you'd say this but I was just trying to get the message out the door quickly before I had to go back to work ;] Will do that shortly (after this message).
So yeah it's a 2004 white ext/red/black leather interior coupe / automatic. It has closer to 69k miles and I bought it from the second owner (who had driven it from 54k-68k). I bought it in Austin, TX for $8,000 even - which was a few grand less than blue book. There are no problems with the exterior or the interior - the car looks to be in great shape. I haven't noticed and significant issues with the car whatsoever - it appears that it was taken very good care of. I feel like I got it for a great price - the seller said he knew he could probably get more for it if he held onto it and sold it in the spring/summer but he just was tired of having a car in his driveway that he didn't drive anymore. Good for me - and good for him too I guess.

Congrats and welcome to Texas! I've added you to the Official Texas Members list. Be sure to catch up with the Central Texas Crossfire (CTC) group. They are a great group of folks.

Always good to see a newbie that DIDN"T pay too much.

Sounds like a great deal on your purchase price.
Enjoy the car and the forum.

Welcome to the forum! The Austin group is a great group to meet up with. They have events just about every month. The interior color is cool and more rare. I once saw the red interior with a black steering wheel. Looked really good! enjoy the car!
Welcome to the forum Paul. It looks like you got a good deal on a great car. I like that color combination. Nice contrast for the alabaster exterior. Enjoy your Crossfire.
Welcome to the forum Paul, you've found the perfect place to be if you're a Crossfire owner. I really can't think of anything that can't be answered by somebody here on this forum about your new car.
It sounds like we have nearly identical cars (except mine came with 3 pedals). Look on the edge of your door to find your build date, and the last 5 digits of your VIN# will tell you its production#. My car was built in Jan.04, and it was #19280 to roll off the assembly line.
Pay no attention to Pizzaman, (he has issues, and he's color blind
)
Fewer than 10% of the Alabaster Crossfires had the Cedar/Slate interior that year, and it's a relatively accurate representation of the Crossfire "Concept" car's interior. So that makes it really cool to most people.

Welcome aboard...
I got the Cedar/Slate interior on my Roadster...and the ladies flock to it, like white on rice.
My original goal in an XF was Roadster, black exterior, cedar/slate interior, low mileage, and manual tranny.
Except for the exterior color, I got it all.
Did I mention that I just love the cedar/slate interior...lol...

@LantanaTX
Yeah - I absolutely love the interior color. It's very exotic looking... really cool IMO. So where can I get more information about the Austin group?

@+fireamx
Thanks for the tips/info - my build # is 11491. Other than when it rolled off the assembly line does that number tell you anything else? I'll check the build date next time I'm in my car.

Cool, I am in Austin as well so if you need any help just shoot me a pm or email tommy2@united-rehab.net... Trying to get some of the Austin xfire owners together for a gtg...
Another fellow austinite here! CTC - Central Texas Crossfires get together usually once a month and will post the get-to-gether in the NORTH AMERICAN - South region of the forum. I usally cruise all over Austin and in the hill country on nice days and clear nights. Even will cruise downtown on the weekends on occasion. Just a fun car to drive and be seen in. As well as people always asking, "What car is that and who makes it?!"
