Default Craigslist XF post by a knucklehead

I almost replied to this guy to give him a good thrashing. Decided to post here instead. Maybe give a potential buyer a heads up.

The guy represented the car pretty well. I doubt he is trying to screw anybody. Certainly better than some of the other for sale crossfires I have seen advertised on craigslist. Based on what he is asking and the way he listed the car, I would say this guys seems legit and so does the car. So he thinks he added a 60HP chip to the car. Maybe he bought it and installed it... and actually believes it. Not everyone is as smart as the people here in this forum. I am willing to bet he was being honest and really thinks he has an extra 60 horses.

I thought you guys would be more aggitated by the "it looks like a camaro" statement

I think the guy is being honest and simply does not know what he is talking about. For all we know it could be a woman... and if she is anything like my wife, good luck giving an accurate description of my crossfire I would love to read that!!

This is why you are supposed to look at the car and examine it before you buy it. You can't believe anything that you read.

New clutch after 57K? Eeeesh.

And a $1,700 exhaust... I'm assuming that's a factory replacement, since Meisterschaft doesn't have us in their applications listing yet ... which begs the question... what happened to the OE exhaust?

Fair enough, but I would never buy a car from someone who does not even know the size rims on the car. I can see many people, women in particular, not knowing the size of tires, but at least the rims, I mean come on, if they have replaced the clutch and exhaust, they have certainly replaced the tires on it before. More importantly, this is info that is right on the side of the tire, if you forgot, just look at the car

57k miles (and a clutch change) in a car from San Francisco probably isn't that unusual. Depends souly on the drivers "manual" skills.
I'm wondering if it isn't a "Base" car since he mentioned new leather.
Changed the front bumper, so he may have changed to the silver Air Cleaner.
Would be nice if they had remembered to mention what year the car is.

I think if someone told me that my car looked like a new Camaro I would have to sell it.
All this time and I thought I was "A Chick Magnet"

I sent the seller a email telling him I am very interested in buying and would like to arrange a time to see it. We'll see what I get back.

Of course, NOW I know it's an SRT in Florida.

I get the idea that people like to post fake stuff on CL just for fun.
(Of course, SOME posts are to get you to meet them somewhere, where you find yourself
face to face with 4 or 5 goons who will turn you into a newspaper headline the next day.
Happens around Atlanta quite often.)

I wonder if the reverse has happened, when the 'seller' is intent on robbing the buyer and has had the tables turned when a small army piles out of the van the buyer came in.
