How many XFs have the LPW?
As far as I recall. Dodge/Chrysler never applied the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty to any SRT model. I did not believe it was possible to get it on the SRT6.
When I bought my 2008 coupe it came with the life time power train and also a $500 gas card. Took me 2 years to use the $500 since it was for a WaWa chain and there wasn't any in central pa. Only got to use it on trips east. They say you have to take the cars in every 5 years for Chrysler to check to maintain the warranty. My dealer didn't know if Chrysler would tell us when it was time to bring the car in or if we had to keep track of when we purchased it and not let it go more than 5 years. I don't know when they started this life time warranty but has anyone with an older crossfire been told by Chrysler it was time to bring it in to get checked?
You had to have purchased the vehicle new on or after July 26, 2007. So, the very first 5 year free inspection can't be due till at least 60 days prior to July 26, 2012. If you bought it on or before July 25, 2007....you got screwed. I think some people may have been allowed to purchase something similar to the LPW....called a service contract.....I may be wrong.
I think the LPW on new purchases ended in 2009 or 10.
I'm thinking Fred may one of only a couple of hundred 6 speed manual sports cars in the world with a LPW.
Expecting to have @ 90,000 miles on it when I go for the free inspection <Dec., 2012

Man, you might be the youngest guy in the world with a LPW !!!! They may be fixing yours for free in the year 2090 if you keep it & live to be 100!!!

Mine is one of the other ones. I was also given to believe that some of the older models sold new from July '07 through end of sales did not come with an LPW. Also if they were sold after a dealer bought from Chrysler after Chrysler took back from a closed dealer or a foreclosed floorplanning agreement.

As I've read the responses, it appears that the operative word is "new". I am the second owner of my '08, so I assume that the warranty was not transferred to me.........correct????

That's correct, Fred ('07) has it as I was the first owner......but Wilma ('08) does not, even though she had almost ZERO miles on her when I bought her from a dealership. But then, I only gave $17K & her sticker was $38K.....she only got the 3/36....sold as used I guess with the dealership as the first owner.
This promotion started 19 days after we bought ours... dealer wouldn't budge on the fact after either. Contacted Chrysler directly and was told purchase date was the only determining factor and that I was ineligible for the warranty.
That sucks.
Yeah, I can buy a MaxCare plan or other Extended Warranty but I wanted the included Lifetime plan that wouldn't cost me a small fortune.

If you're lucky, the original owner bought some additional warranty.

I'll call the dealer later today and see what I can pull up.
My '07's 3/36 was used up after only 2 years, there was a tiny rear end (diff) leak a year later...the LPW did pay for that.....dealer said it would have been $450 + total. So the LPW is being honored & is of value.
God I love driving this 6 speed!!! 56,000 miles so far.
