Squeaky Suspension
Man, this is driving me crazy!
A couple of days ago, a loud, annoying squeak started in the rear of my car. Checking it out later, it clearly sounds like it's coming from the right, rear suspension, near the top. It squeaks when I go over bumps, or rock the car. I opened the hatch to make sure that wasn't it - although I fixed that rattle already (thanks to the forum).
Anybody run into this? A bushing or something?

Sorry to say but it is one of the bushes that needs replacing. 100Ł incl. Install at the mechanics. I did it on both rear tires on my old n/a.

don't do it yourself, too difficult and springs flying all over the place is a risk I would not take.

I wonder if the member Rudy from north of me does this kinda of work also???
Update on this old thread ...
I still get this squeak every winter. This winter, it has just been the right rear. I was telling a couple of the techs in my shop about it, told them I had crawled under there and sprayed lube on everything that moves, but it's still there. One of them was sure it was from a bushing on the sway bar. They put the car on the rack, lubed that and everything else the could get their hands on. They went so far as to take things apart, lube them, and put them back together.
Of course, the squeak didn't go away. They concluded it's coming from the top of the spring, whatever that sits in. Looking at the parts list, I see there is a part that goes there called a Spring Isolator (part# 05102308AA, 05102311AA, or 05102312AA - not sure what the difference is). At this point, I am pretty sure that is where the problem is. I won't know until I can get the part and get it put in.

The Spring Isolater is a rubber pad which your spring sits in. They come in different thicknesses which is why there are different part numbers. I have changed mine to help fine tune the ride height. They are not very difficult to change.
You need a spring compressor though, right?
You can read my thread on it here:

Had the same problem in my 04. The driver side rear squeaked with almost no effort. I took it in to the dealership and they told me it was a bad bushing in the knuckle. There is only the one bushing inside the spindle. Chryslers quote was $1800. We picked the rear suspension apart to get to this bushing. Picking it apart was relatively easy. Everything will be held together by the shock, the suspension drops out of the way. The bushing was not worn, but dry. We stuck a grease needle into the bushing and gave it 2 or 3 squirts. No noise since!
