Default Blacked-out Coupe.

Well i finally got the blackout project done i think.

Got my wheels back from powdercoating yesterday and had the tires put back on right away. Had them done in gloss black, and for a killer price since my uncle knows the owner of the place. I dont mind the emblems being chrome, so im gonna leave them alone.

A couple other things i did when waiting for the wheels to come back is painted the calipers Sharks teal, and lowered the back of the car .5" - .75" to make it sit level. Oh and my new license plate arived!

What do ya guys think? Cant wait for spring so this salt is off the roads completly.

I love black cars I have a black Crossfire, with that said I'm not crazy about the black wheels. It looks like it's an AWD Crossfire, I personally would have lowered it a little more, I think the black wheels makes it seem like it's sitting higher.
The bottom line is it's your car and if you like that's all that matters, enjoy.

Very nice, I like it. Get some smoky headlight films now. And a limo tint...

Definitely handsome in black. I would prefer a little color on the wheels even if it were just a thin contrasting stripe to make them POP! But, as stated, it is your car and it sounds like you have achieved the look YOU wanted. Great job!

To each his own, I just can't agree with the constant black.
Even the Bat Mobile had red accents.
Now the Green Hornets' car, that's a different story, but not one that EVER caught on. Sorry, but I agree that it looks very tall and like a four wheel drive. The most outstanding look or appearance is it looks very inexpensive, plain out and out "cheap".

Thanks guys. Like yall said, to each its own.

I do however plan on doing striker stripes on it yet...also a pinstripe around the outside of the wheel im thinking would look nice.

Its funny that yall think it looks tall, i couldnt believe how low i thought it sat. Part of that could be because ive been driving my truck all winter that the floor is at my waste lol.

I have a black crossfire..... the rims don't do it for me. I can't stand our rims painted in black. Just my opinion since you asked

Thanks. Yeah i might look into lowering springs at some point.

The wheels are powdercoated, the calipers are painted.

I'm in agreement with the nay-sayers on the colored wheels. I get the feeling that the person coming out of the car will be wearing a black mask over his eyes. I don't care for the color of your brake calipers, either. Normally I'd keep quiet, because I too feel that you're free to do what you want... but you did ask.

I like the calipers. I tried chrome pinstriping in the recess of each spoke. Didnt think it would last but surprisingly it did a great job. It would be easy to apply and if one comes off its easy to put back on

Green-Ghost: Yes that was the way i thought about doing the wheels at first. Having the guy powdercoat all the recesses like that aluminum. But he told me that if i wanted to save money i could just have it all done in black, and then later if i wanted to i could just tape off the rest of the wheel and paint them. I never thought of a vinal or anything to lay in there.

You gotta dress those tires. Yeah I know it's winter, but still.

I am reserving judgment until I see what your accent work looks like. I have been toying with the idea of pin stripes. Please post another set of pictures when you get it done.

As a former 'blacked out' coupe owner, I am not in love. I think even when something is blacked out you need a little contrast, I used carbon fiber, stainless, and chrome to break it up, without adding color.

Not a fan of the calipers, but they sure are different. Looking forward to seeing it complete when you can really clean it up. Is that dirt or nasty body damage right above this fender?

I know the tires need to be dressed lol. That was the first time it was outside in about 2 months, and just took it out long enough to snap a few shots then parked it back in the shop. It will get waxed, polished, and all dressed up once i get to drive it again. No that is not body damage, just dirt/dust.

I knew the calipers is one of them "personal" things. I like black/turquoise, as my Needswings CAI is coated in it as well...and i plan on doing striker stripes in turquoise as well.

Im still trying to debate if i want to do all the recesses on the wheels, or just a pin stripe around the outside. I have some time before itll get done as its still snowing around here so i cant take it to the place i get my vinals done yet. So i have alittle time to figure it out.
