I should just shoot myself now...
I had to drop off my beloved Crossfire at the dealership today for some touch-ups -- she had a couple paint chips when I got 'er, probably because she was the showroom floor car.
Well, actually, I had to work today, so I had my other half, Kris, drop off the Crossfire. Thought I was going to kill myself going back to the Jeep for a day... the clutches are completely different, and I'd forgotten.
Anyway, as if it wasn't bad enough that I'll be without my Crossfire for two days, I got home and found out Kris had rented a car for me (at the dealer's expense) for the couple days...
It's a Hyundai. A butt-ugly, white (no, it's not alabaster -- it's WHITE) four-cylinder, built-out-of-hamsters-and-rubber-bands HYUNDAI. I'm in hell.
I think I'm going to walk to work tomorrow.

LOL! I stopped carpooling the 40 miles one way to work in LA traffic because I didn't have the heart to tell my carpool buddy that after spending 5 minutes in my new Crossfire, I didn't want to spend 50 in his Honda...I changed my work hours instead.
But tomorrow my XFire goes into the shop for a checkup and yes, I'd rather carpool than drive that "complimentary" Focus they usually give me. It's all relative.
It's also all in jest...but not really.

 Trick, I'm sorry - I'm laughing so hard right now, I'm sure you can almost hear me.
I'm laughing WITH YOU - not AT YOU though ... because we have been there, done that!!!
9 days after we bought our XF, we had to take it in - they took us over to pick up our "rental" .... it was a POS Saturn. And it was silver ... not SSB...just a butt ugly dirty Silver Saturn.
That night, Las Vegas had the big flood, which we got stuck in. We were glad we were not in our XF at that moment, though.
The next day - drove the Saturn back to Enterprise and told them to keep it. We decided we didn't need to rent a car that bad - we would use our other car instead.
So.....I feel your pain. Good Luck!!!

I'd drive the junk out of that Hyundai. It would be at 6000 RPMs the entire commute.
At Acura whenever I take my RSX in they give me a 3.2TL Type S or TSX. They use the opportunity to sell me on a more expensive car. Good marketting, really.

I think the crossfire would look nice in that pearl metalic color that Cadillac uses on the Escalades.

and I thought I heard the same from mine drunkiq! I know I got a nice seabring for my rental... that was just because all the other nicer loaners were out
drunkiq is right. as i understand, the rental allowance is around $30 daily and an upgrade...so you guys shouldn't be running around in a focus or saturn
mine has been in for just routine things and my dealer's preferred rental agency gave me a choice of anything on their lot within that allowance since chrysler was footing the bill (and they would even upgrade better for minimal cost). within that allowance, a very decent SUV (for change of scenery/view of road) did it for me...since I'd never buy one! b

Hmmm...thanks for the notes on the upgrade...I'll have to check on that. I've only had a rental for warranty work like replacing the transmission and radio, not regular service, so maybe they went cheap on that.

You should have received a brochure about the program either with your car or in the mail shortly afterwards (definately BEFORE your lugagge arrived!).
Here is the link to the information on the Chrysler website. It also applies to the 300.

Thanks for the link... I notice it excludes "bodywork, paint, or repairs due to collision," so that may be why I'm in the rubbermobile -- I just need a few dealer-supplied dings removed.
And, in my dealer's defense... it's a good-sized Hyundai. 'Course, that just means there's more of it to hate.
