Default Painted Moldings

Have other Crossfire owners had an issue with paint showing sign of wear on the aluminum moldings (I believe they are aluminum?) that run between the door and roof of the car?

The body shop estimate to repaint both moldings was $200.00. Does that sound about right?

Thank you for any responses.

Are you referring to the silver painted pieces surrounding the windshield. I'm not sure I understand the part you're looking for. The only aluminum I know of in the area you're referring to are the sill plates and the inside door handle. Everything else is painted black or silver, depending on the location.

I'm referring to the long 3/4" painted strip that runs above the doors. In searching old threads, I found that a few others have had the same problem. I need to have them fixed. I'm mostly curious about cost (if anyone else has had the work done), and whether it would be better to have them repainted or purchase new moldings and have those installed.

So the rubber seal? I know those can get pretty ratty looking with time, if that's what you're referring to. If it is, then I am of no help, sorry!

I know what you are talking about. $200 is probably about right, if not a little high.
