What do you want!
I'll be honest with this one, I have been toying with the idea of making parts. I've been working at a speed shop for almost 4 years while going to school, I have a 2 year business and I will have a 4 year mechanical engineering degree in a couple semesters (not many credits left, but classes aren't offered..). The parts I sell can be made for close to nothing and are sold for hundreds of dollars. Bottom line is that I have design experience and I want to start making parts for myself, and share my stuff with the crossfire community. We need an aftermarket!! I have been thinking of a short shifter, or at least an improved shifter setup, I am in the process of making adjustable control arms and camber arms. and I will be turboing my mustang this summer with an efi setup which I will fabricate and tune everything myself. The crossfire will be my next project. I have a strong background in CNC machining and performance automotive fabrication. If you want anything made let me know, if there is enough interest I can make up a drawing and bring it to a machine shop to have it produced. The more people that are interested the cheaper it will be. Seriously, anything you can think of blurt it out and if you agree with someone don't hesitate to post!

Rear window louvers. I know some people hate them and they are 80's... But a lot of old and current exotics have them and if done right would look real good on the crossfire. Some people here have posted mock ups. Look around for the threads.
My second choice is a rear spoiler lip that goes on our spoiler. Just like the star tec spoiler.

I like the initiative.
My only comment for you would be to start with a part that can go on either the SRT or the N/A. It will provide you a larger audience to attract.
Also, you may have to start with something you want personally and get it produced and in-hand. The only reason I say that is because of some sour taste some people have from other people making parts.
Good luck in your adventures, if you need a SRT to prototype on let me know. I'm only a couple hours away.

nice to know, I want to start off small, with low liability parts lol. The camber arms are more for me to try for year or so throughout new york. Cosmetic stuff is easy for me though.

I'm not sure if you can make this happen...but I bet a decent number of people would be interested if you could make a trunk cover...like the retractable ones that used to be made...but now you can't find them anywhere. I know I'd be interested in that.
WOW this is great! I'd like to see some polished aluminum or chrome parts to dress up the engine bay. Some old time members have had their plastic ecu cover etc chromed. a NICE and thin stick on overlay would be good for everyone.
I like louvers but dont see that happening, how about a rear window viser like the one Squirrel Crusher made from an old pathfinder dust deflector, I think its way cool and has already been done.

maybe look into strakes with a custom meshed (black part) and polished strakes. maybe something that can let hot air out.
Devil horns etc that can increase air flow to stock airbox
Window surrounds that dont cost 300 bucks
Dead pedals
thanks for the opportunity youve given us!

My wish list is a french louvered plate that fits under the wing so that there is a free flow of air through the coupe when the wing is up so the air doesn't get trapped by the hatch. Second is some sort of rain rail so that I can keep the window open a tad and not have the rain pouring in from the blow off from the windshield. That bugs me big time, since it ccomes in like a little rivelut from right at the top corner of the window. I'd also like to see a spoiler that fits all across the back end, in the flip up style of the old Shelby's, molded to the shape of the flanks. And any new idea for a grille would ALWAYS be welcome. Good luck on your quest.
I've been thinking the same thing about modifications to be made for the Suzuki Burgman touring scoot. I made my own saddlebag brackets and stuff like that because I had to as there's really not much out there.

. The rain gaurds I probably wouldn't be able to make, they are usually injection molded plastic. It seems like alot of people want spoilers and louvers. Not what I had in mind when I made this, but interesting. I could probably make something up out of fiberglass. If I were to do something of the sort I would probably start out with the wing. It would be alot easier to make something the same size as the stock spoiler, as something larger will require alot more re-tooling and engineering to make work safely; but is possible. I always liked the look of wings with little lips on the edge. Looks like I have some projects in front of me

As cool as that plate would be, I can't imagine how it would seal properly. Obviosly, you'd only want it open when the windows open.. hmmm, a sliding plate wired into the window switch

What I was thinking was that if it were raining then I'd shut the wing deploy off, as the wing itself would keep that area dry, as the louvers under that area would be facing backwards anyway and the wind would keep that flowing backward anyway. Just a thought is all as I'm merely trying to get the air caught in the rear hatch out. One way to do that would be to make the rear side window a latched pop out but that's alot of work to make that work out right. I really wish they'd bring back wing vents in the front window area. I make experiment with a small aluminum channel that would be painted to match the car for a rain guard. even a plastic L-lip mounted with auto tape would probably be enough to deflect the rain-in

Short throw shift kit is a must if you have the means to make a nice unit.
Dead pedal would be great as well.
I still believe that if someone made a chin spoiler that looked similar to the SRT lip that was a simple add on over the OEM bumper, they could sell quite a few of them as well.
Thanks and oh yeah, a trick shift **** that incorporated the center spine would be awesome.

So I'm getting the gears turning.. I've seen:
-Louvers, repeatedly. I'm playing around with ideas, not going to be my first project though.
- Grille, I could make something happen. I'm thinking stainless steel with whatever choices of finishes are available. Powdercoating comes in a wide range of colors, and its usually close in price for any color.
-Strakes, would be difficult to use anything but plastic or fiberglass for the strakes themselves and steel for the grille.
-Open air vent for hatch area. Cool idea, but it could get complicated and expensive to work properly. Definately a thought.
-Chin spoiler. Like the louvers, not my specialty but possible. Fiberglass is easy to work with and cheap. My friends do bodywork on old vettes and can make custom panels, do repairs etc.
-Short shifter / ****. I don't know if the shifter needs to be shorter, but improvements can definately be made. I would like to make one with a larger diameter for a more solid feel. I have some ideas, and I like this project. I won't forget the spine
.
-Dead pedal- easy, but there are options out there identical to what I had envisioned.
-Billet aluminum/stainless steel dressup accessories, definately possible.
I'll work on some designs during the week. Bear with me with this stuff, because I am still in school and work a decent amount. Time is at a premium and I'm doing this in my spare time. This is a side project for me, not a business venture. This should be fun for everyone. lol

I would like to see some no holes drilled front facia air splitter fins. Maybe from aluminium. Not into something completly across the lower front to knock off with parking lot stops. Picked up some rear deck wings from some 1999-2000 Pontiac Grand Am's to cut up for making a few this weekend. Squirrel Crusher
Here's a template for the Louvers.
Rear Window Louvers - The Datsun Classifieds
I think one of the things that may make it more desirable, is if you could come up with a hinged attachment that required no drilling into the hatch, and was totally hidden beneath the louvers.
Using the thinnest aluminium possible, but still thick enough so each individual louver doesn't sag would be cool too. (Nothin worse than a sagging louver).
It's a retro look that certainly isn't for everybody, but they really do a good job at keeping interior temps down, (not that our AC doesn't do it better).

Edit: Of course, those are for side windows.
