Save yourself the trouble, forget the brunette, and get TWO Crossfires.

Aw man, that's harsh

But to be fair, I can tell you that most Mercedes owners think the same way of your Crossfires

Come on, we are family!

It's because we're family that I can be honest and direct. When the R170 first came out I thought it was a very pretty car, but it hasn't aged all that gracefully and just looks downright dated (to my eyes, anyway). The newer iterations of the SLK are much better looking cars than the R170 (again, to my eyes) and overall I love the looks of the new M-B models. They run rampant here in SoCal and I lust after the latest C-Class every time I see one, regardless of viewing angle. And the E-Class Coupe is beautiful.

But comparing a Mercedes R170 SLK to a Crossfire - it's sort of like a hot librarian with her hair pulled up and wearing a demure sweater and long skirt who has suddenly let her hair down, threw on a tight mini skirt and low cut top and is stepping out for a night of fun. She was always pretty, but now she's smokin' hot!

I had to go 600 miles to get my roadster. It was well worth it. And not just the ride back.

I found it on autotrader. Saw some very interesting Crossfires on eBay. Looked like there is some nice cars in Texas and CA.

I wish we were more like family. We are more like a ba$tard child that the family doesn't talk about in public. True many MB owners accept us but for the most part they don't. Look at any MB forum and they have section for everything MB, even smart cars, but they don't acknowledge us at all. I am active on MB world and Benz world and usually post in the R170 section which some accept and some wonder what the heck I am doing there. the funny thing is that the Chrysler guys don't want much to do with us either as they know we aren't really driving a Mopar. I parked next to a SLK owner once and we started talking. He got upset when I mentioned we were pretty much driving the same car and then he got really pi$$ed when I proved it and told him what I paid.

Check Yahoo Autos. I don't know where you are in CA but i'm in Orange County. Found my XF about 10 miles from my house...

Couple days and $13,889 later I had the pink slip to a 2005 Black N/A Coupe (6 speed) with only 25k on the odo.

Good luck with it,
Eric Henderson

Thanks for the info man. You sound like you are very happy with your acquisition!

I'll get there, no rush. I was that with my Audi and I got a very good deal from an owner who took good car of his car.

Any time! If you have any questions feel free to PM me. I couldn't be more satisfied.

I'm 18 and own my own car, AND it's an XF..

Had it for a little over 5 months and have put ~6500 miles on it. Runs great, no mechanical issues so far!

Gets great highway mileage as well --- ~28 (And i'm no grandma ) City mileage.... well like I said, i'm no grandma. ~15-17?

I might also mention that in the 5 months i've had my car...i've seen about 5 other ones in person. It's nice to be unique.

Regards,
Eric

Well.... except that it is BLACK!
Not looking to start anything here, but this may be good advice. The black ones do call for more care and attention, probably much like the young lady mentioned originally. The SSB (sissy safire blue) ones look OK dirty or clean.
