Default Reasons not to buy an SRT6 - 1. Eurocharged

Well maybe that's the only one.

Clint took over my laptop and NA Roadster this morning for just a few minutes, and the process went very smoothly. Outcome was very impressive, and Cathy agrees that it feels more responsive.

Our car is an unmodified 6spd. I could hear no difference at idle, but under just a little more than moderate acceleration, it really comes alive! I hope the 340 I have in the machine shop will feel as good when it's done.

Seat of the pants, the Eurocharged tune was a great investment. If you are considering it, you still have a couple of days to get in on the great offer made available to forum members.

I'm pretty sure I'd never take advantage of the SRT6, and it's another temptation I don't need. For now.

Michael (the permagrin is real)

Your title is mighty misleading...but glad to hear you are enjoying the new tune.

Zahanma,

Intentional, but I hope my comments clear that up fully. I worked on Cathy for a while, but she wouldn't give on her two conditions - convertible and manual. I've read somewhere that the manual was available in the SRT6, but I've seen no evidence of it, and needed to strike while the wife was agreeable. And I lack the skills and vision to really use an SRT6.

I can honestly say there's not another car built after the early 70's that excites me like the Crossfire. Any Crossfire.

I to have a N/A roadster and i agree, the last car that I owned that excites me as much as this was my Challenger T/A. That was one hell of a nice car. Keep us posted on how your 340 turns out. What is it in? Sorry for hijacking the thread. No I'm not, I love talking 340 Mopar.

Daimler-Chrysler never produced a manual version of the SRT. Ever.

HDDP did spend a lot of time and money mating the N/A manual transmission to the SRT engine...but then again with enough time and money anything is possible. He also ended up running standalone software to manage everything.

Other than that there are no manual SRTs.

Tired,

This motor will probably go into a 67 Dart GT. Car needs repaint, but has 51K miles on it. I bought it in 2001 from the estate of the lady who bought it in AUG of 67 and drove it home from Virginia when I retired from the Navy in 03.

Navy put me on the left coast for two tours, and I came home with a pair of 66 Formula S's, two 67 Darts, and a notchback 67 Barracuda. That took some planning, driving, and trailering!

Each of these cars needs work, some more than others. I scrounged parts while I could, and have most of the parts to put them back on the road. I have a very long to-do list. The A-bodies are fun, and parts are becoming available. I'd love to own an TA or AAR, but any E is out of my budget.

I know this isn't the place for other cars, but unlike many here, I own my Crossfire in part because it is, at least in name, a MOPAR. Thanks for asking.

Michael

Now all you need to do is drive a Eurocharged SRT-6 to change your mind again. I know I can't get rid of my grin when I press the pedal!

Mimi,

Maybe that's not all grin! Cumulative effects from acceleration over time may be causing it.

Ed,

Through MARCH (today), cost for remote tune is $265. They'll send a cable to connect the car to a laptop, and if you make changes to the car, retunes are free.

I've seen 15-25 HP gains mentioned here. I didn't even ask, because the comments on the Forum are so positive. Some do have dyno results to substantiate. In perspective, that much horsepower would probably have cost more forty years ago, when gas was 40 cents a gallon and I made a dollar an hour.

It was easy, and I'm no computer wazoo.

Michael
