There's no way a car with as high a highway mpg as 25 (only for the automatic, which I don't have), consistantly gets near 32 mpg on a regular basis with a standard mixture of highway and city driving that most people do. Unless you're some extreme hypermiler, which makes me wonder why you even own the car if that's the case.
A new TT isn't saying all that much considering the standard model has 200 hp and if you were running with him from highway speeds then it's totally believable. If it was a 3.2L TT, it's a bit less likely unless the guy was in the wrong gear. But hey, I did pretty well against an Audi B6 S4--the V8 powered sports sedan based on the A4 with like 340hp. Was the guy really racing me? I have no idea. And I was able to beat on a current civic Si, which like the early mkII TT cars is a fwd ca with 200 hp.

I drive 100+ miles per day in my daily driver SUV. 50 miles to work in each direction. I don't drive my crossfire as a daily driver anymore but the few times I do drive it I notice a difference. When you drive an SUV each day and you get in the crossfire you can feel the power and handling.

Nice old thread. I wouldn't think that little wing would help until you get in the 80+ range but I am sure there is an engineer on here to correct me. That means my big old wing is killing my fuel mileage...I am going out to the garage right now and take a saw's all to it....damn wing...

I'd be happy with 24 mpg...I drive 120 miles round trip everyday and they are all highway miles. The best I can get is 21 mpg...I prob avg about 70 miles an hour,
GT, Sports car, GT, Sports car------blah blah blah. You guys call your's what you want, my Crossfire, Looks, handles, and goes faster than anything I have owned in my life of driving(too many cars, and at my age, I dont remember half of them.)
I refer to my 2005 limited black coupe, as a--SPORTS CAR !!!!
PS since I have never been able to afford a Audi, 800 series, a Mercedes, SLK, Porsche, (and these next three, I cant even spell,) Ferarri, Lambourgenie, and Masaratti, my apoligies to all my Italian friends, hell, I cant even afford a new Corvette. I was able to afford my '05 Crossfire, Sports car, though.

I can DEFINITELY relate. I, too, have a garage queen. I bought my '05 coupe in April of '09 with 2,850 on Ode. 2 years later, the Ode reads 8,310. Yeah, I need to drive it more....

I bought my 04 in 05. I drive it everyday that I don't ride the motorcycle.
I stll enjoy it. It puts a smile on my face. To me it is a fun sporty car that is reasonable to drive. I restore classic mopars for a living. We put cars together with lots of hp that are not as drivable as the simple crossfire.
It may be a dog off the line but it makes up for it in other areas.
Bla Bla Bla ok I'm off to go paint a cuda. Wish me luck.

I just came from the garage after detailing the underside of the car. My wife and I love the Xfire.
