Thinking of buying a Crossfire (again)
Hi everyone....the title says it all. A few years ago I sold my 2004 Crossfire coupe (Sapphire Blue) for personal reasons at the time. Well here I am again thinking about buying another Crossfire coupe. Have checked into a gray limited coupe located roughly 90 miles north of me. It has approximiately 13,000 miles on it and they are asking 14,900.00 which seems high to me. So...I need any opinions you may have on what the coupes are going for these days. Being that I have been away from the Crossfire news for a while I really am not sure what is a good price vs. a bad price. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.

Are you interested in an SRT?
Price does not seem high to me considering the low mileage. There is an srt6 on Ebay for about $16000 in Lima, Ohio, but it has 77k on the odometer. It's blue and the ad says "or best offer." I'm thinking I might choose a higher mileage SRT6 over a low mileage NA coupe if the price was the same and condition was excellent for both. I do have a NA Alabaster 04 Coupe with 30k that I really like, but sometimes I wonder what it would be like to have 115+ more horsepower.

As much as I would like the car to appreciate in value, $16K for a high milage SR is a bit stiff. There are several Aero Blue coupes about with lower milage and lower prices.

I agree the price sounds high. I recently bought a 7,000-mile 2005 coupe for $10,000. While I think I got a pretty good deal, it was advertised for quite some time right here on this forum and nobody seemed to jump on it.

Buying one with lower miles and putting them on myself would not scare me at all, because at least then I know what the car has been through and that it has been maintained.
Having a whale of a time finding a decent mileage Crossfire in the area with a decent price attached to it. Cars.com and Autotrader both have quite a few listed but not at the price I want to pay. The dealer in Michigan I wrote is only willing to take off 500.00 from his asking price on a 2005 Limited Coupe. He is asking 14,900 and will go down to 14,400 which I am not interested in at all. One thing about it I don't need the car so I am a very patient man at this point. If they don't want to budge then I am just not going to buy. As they say patience is virtue.
Make your offer. If he takes his sweet time in finally coming down to reality and accepts your offer, tell him you've thought it over and give him a new, lower offer. It worked for my brother.

I paid 18 K for a black SRT6 coupe with 18k in may from a forum member. I am delighted, and he has first dib if I sell. Fantastic car.... preservation is my mission with some driving. Gary
There are a couple of base coupes available that I am checking into. One is here in Ohio and the other in St. Louis...since I want a manual the base would work out great. Also, I love Crossfires in black...in my humble opinion it is one of the best colors and the cloth seats are just fine too. The search goes on!!
I love my base black coupe because of what it doesn't have. I do not care for the painted windshield frame, nor the painted strakes and door handles. No need for electric seats, useless cup holder, nor Navigation system. The car has been fitted with very nice leather seats (dealer install), and I added fog lights and SRT wheels. About the only other items I may install would be the garage-door opener and possibly a second cigarette lighter so I can have dual power sources.

I only drove a Limited briefly, and really cannot give you a comparison between the seats. My base seats are covered with leather, and I'm happy with them.
