2 limiteds and a base over the last 5+ years...

I actually liked the base seats better. Yes, I said it. IMO they do not have the aesthetic appeal of the limiteds two tone leather, but they had much better support and bolsters, not to mention, you do not slide around on the cloth when you are driving aggressively like you do on the leather. Neither seat has ANY lumbar support, on the recommendation of another member, I found a solution to that, but I would recommend a base to anyone. Especially if you intend on modifying it, as there are none of the nanny lights you get in the limited when you start changing things, no bulb out indicator so LEDs are a must, and no TPMS so aftermarket wheels are easy as well. Good luck in the search.

Well the dealer in Ohio wrote me today and stated they needed 17,900.00 for the 2007 Base coupe. Granted it only has about 3,000 on it but that is a lot higher then I want to go. I will just take my time on this and wait until something comes along.

Well everybody the search goes on. Found a 2007 Base coupe in Illinois...with only 700 miles on it. Wrote the dealer and he stated an older gentleman owned the car but unfortunately he passed away and his wife kept it in the garage for a long period of time and wouldn't drive it ....she apparently didn't like the car?? Anyhow, that is the reason for the low mileage. That means this car was a garage queen for a long period of time. Not good for a car that should be driven. So they are asking 17,897 for the car but that is over my budget...want to stay as low as possible with this deal. Maybe I am repeating my self but also found a couple of bases ...one here in Ohio and another in Illinois. The Ohio car has approx. 3,000 on it and they too want in the 17K range. Car in Illinois has 20,000 and they are asking 13,300 for that one. There you have it ....what I have found thus far. As I said before am going to take my good old time on this and whatever happens happens.

Just to give you an idea, I bought a 2005 base coupe over two years ago with less than 30K on it, perfect condition except some rock chips and I was a hair under 10K - I also bought in January with 6" of snow on the ground. Keep looking, 17K for a base is insane, you could buy a low mileage SRT for that...

It WOULD be fun to have an XF with 700 miles on it - might be worth $17K to someone.

But on the other hand, a car that is not driven more than 700 miles in 6 years will have some problems, IMO.

I passed up a nice white Limited 6 speed with 50,000 on it last fall for $9500. But, it was a coupe and I don't sit in the LIMITED Coupe very well, I'm tall from the waist up, those Base seats sit lower, or so it seems.

You have got a nice looking roadster there pizzaguy. That color is perfect on the XF.

You are totally right 17K for a base is crazy. This is why being patient pays off and not being in any hurry whatsoever. When something comes along great but until that time I am definitely not going to make a stupid move and pay more then I should.

I may have payed a little much for mine. I just bought a '05 limited 6 speed for $14,000, with 14,000 miles. After we drove it, i am pretty sure the price didnt concern my fiance.

You are about in line with what I am seeing out there. Usually the ones under 15,000 miles are bringing in the 14k price or maybe a little more. My problem is I want my cake and eat it too type thing. A low mileage car for under $12,000.

Personally, I would go in with some comparative sales of limiteds around the area (if you can find any around the same price) and tell him w/o the leather, heated seats, upgraded stereo, fogs, etc. that you will offer him no more than 10K and see where you get, you can always offer more later if need be

Thanks...that is pretty much what my thoughts are on this...around 10K as an offer. Might give it a shot and see what happens.
