Default question. is this common?

my cars moved in like 5 months. and the oil pan is pretty wet with oil. is there a seal down there or just a sealer? cause i realized i was looseing oil wen i was runng the car before the crash i had. cars now getting fixed. and also i ahve a leak on top of the vave covers but i know i can re do them with rtv or w,e. can the oi pan be done the same way. is this common?

I believe theres a gasket for the lower oil pan. (crossfire has 2 oil pans)
I don't know what rtv or w,e is, but I thought there was a gasket for the valve covers.

O wow 2 oil plans lol never knew tht. But one oil pan drain plug right? Lol and do the oil pan gaskets go commonly? And I'm talking about the small covers on top of the valve cover.

Honestly it's been so long since I looked at the NA motor (even though it's similar) I can't be sure about the valve covers. On the oil pan's there are 2 sections rather than 2 oil pans. A lower oil pan and an upper oil pan. Mainly designed for convenience.

No leaks on mine. I don't remember reading about any leaking oil pan gaskets in all these years.

I can only tell you what I know. The small breather valve covers are indeed sealed with a black RTV. I had mine resealed under warranty (temporary fix) and then I redid it myself. (permanent fix) I don't know about the real valve cover. I imagine it has a gasket. But I like what your thinking. (fix it if it's not perfect)
