Default #000317 - Final Drama

Today was a very sad day. I finally had to return my crossfire.

The process seemed easy. First, when I arrived at the dealer, my service guy greeted me and told me that they had my paper work and my check in the office. On my way to the office the General Manager/Partial Owner asks what's going on and I said that I was leaving my car. He said, "No you're not. We don't have any room." in a very rude tone.... Then my service guy says "Yes we have lots of room". They continued this bickering for a few seconds then the GM tells the service guy come here. He takes him behind the service area and apparently curses him out for helping me. They all then walk away and leave me hanging! So I go back and talk to my service guy and he says just to go get my paperwork from the office. I had to show ID, then they gave me the contents pretty much untouched from the arbitration company or whatever. I go back to the service guy and he has no clue what to do from there. I call the guy that was handling the buyback for me through chrysler and I tell him that they don't know what to do and that they gave me the check and all of the DCX paperwork. He was the next one to get mad saying that there was a dealer checklist in there and that is all they have to do. I go back and tell my service guy, who is all bent out of shape from the GM yelling at him, so that he could call the guy at for the buyback and he says he doesn't want to deal with it. So now, I'm stuck again. I wander around again and look for someone else I can talk to. I find the GM and tell him I need this settled. The GM got one of the sales people to call the buyback guy and then they started my paperwork. They had me sign a few papers and they gave me my check. Finally, I had to have the sales guy call the buyback guy to verify that they had my car in their possesion so that he could send my payoff check for my auto loan. I hope everything is settled now. If not, i'm screwed. I guess I'm gonna have to call bank of america every day till the loan gets paid off.

My crossfire was wonderful. Now, I'll be waiting for the SRT convertible!

That sounds like an ultra-bummer.

Buy your next one from another dealer since they didn't appreciate you enough. If DCX really wants to transform their image into a higher profile company, they should take lessons from Lexus, who is #1 in customer satisfaction, or so says J.D. Powers.

Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience. I assume your crossfire was a lemon and I am surprised you would want to go buy another one even after the entire hassle. Any particular reason? I love my crossfire but if it turned out to be a lemon, I don't think I would get another one.

I love the car. I think all my problems were mostly due to the face that I had an early produced vehicle #000317. I started having problems the first day. Although I've had all these problems, I think i'd still want to try another one.

Robby, good way of looking at it. This problem isn't just a Crossfire problem. Look at any new car launched and you'll hear about tons of problems. The 745I was cursed with electrical defects from the launch. Look at the Porche Cayenne, it's a nightmare. The Hummer is the worst quality vehicle sold in the U.S. I could go on but you get the point. Stay clear of the SRT Convertible till after 6 months or you might have a similar experience.

Real Bad Experience. Mine is a low number (980) and I had a couple of problems, the suspension was messed up they replaced some parts, took two months to get them, the handle that opens the rear hatch fell off and they fixed that too. Radio has been replaced (Display) But no other problems yet. Got my fingers crossed.

But your Dealer is really an A. H. Wouldn't deal with them unless they gave me the car. I guess Car Dealers don't like to take one back.

Good Luck with your next one.
